Just up reminiscing... And I am just a little upset with myself. For the simple fact, the first time around (after I had my daughter) I was really dedicated to going to the gym and I was sticking with my strict diet. We had a Miami couple’s trip and I was so determined to losing the weight I gained from my pregnancy. I joined a boot camp and I was able to loose 25llbs just in time. But once I found out I was expecting with my son, I grew hopeless of ever having my body back. So, I stopped going. I guess I ‘m just a little upset because had not quit, Lord only knows about how nice my body would have been🤔🤤. But at this point it’s pointless for me to think about the “what could have been” and just work on the “NOW”. I’m going back home🌴 (FL) this Summer🌤, a Bachelorette Beach 🌊☀️outing, and hopefully our trip to 🇭🇹Haiti. I have never completed a workout and thought, “well I shouldn’t have done that.” I truly feel good and it feels good to move my body!! It’s not always pretty, it’s not always “fun” or easy but I’m always proud that I CAN and did do it 🤗 . . . ⁣ ⁣ My workout program is 20 minutes a day, 6 days a week. Every day we have a progression test. This day, last week, my transformers were 27, 45, and 8. This is how many times I did three different moves in the time frame given. ⁣ ⁣ But my PT pushes me. I know it’s all online but damn. This guy gets in your head and makes you believe in yourself. Today....today my transformers were 38, 56, and 17. And I bawled my eyes out. ⁣ ⁣ I thought I was a lost cause. I really did. Until I found this amazing group of women that believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. This isn’t just a major life change. This is a SHIFT. I am a new person. I’m different. ⁣ ⁣ There is hope. And it isn’t found in a diet, or a pill or a surgery. It’s found in your MINDSET. It’s found in your KITCHEN. And it’s found on your MAT. I had no idea what I wanted to do for this photo. Whatever, I went to the dojo and had open floor practice. We have just this week and break will finally finally come to an end. I just got off an amazing team call. The guest speaker talked all about limiting beliefs, accepting & understanding our character flaws and being our true self. It really had me thinking {and in tears} about the person I was before coaching. I had no self esteem or self love. I thought personal development was a joke. I really didn’t know who I was because I was always trying to impress and please others. And the worst part was I thought it was normal to be like that and feel that way. I thought when you grew up your were suppose to feel fat and tired and miserable. #limitingbelief I cannot even imagine how miserable I would be today had I not found coaching and not decided to do something different and unconventional. Coaching has taught me its ok to be different. That it’s ok to work on yourself if you’re unhappy or uncomfortable even when other people don’t understand. It’s ok to dream and want more out of life. Coaching literally changed the course of my life for the better so I cannot keep quite about this opportunity. When you have to tools and opportunity to drastically effect even ONE persons life like I do, I have to share. These jeans are bad for me. . Like they were my favorite, but they have to go away. . I bought these in 2011. I remember purchasing them and being mostly excited bc they were “ankle length” which meant for 4’9.75” tall me...they didn’t need to be hemmed. And I loved the eff out of them. . But in 2011 I hadn’t really started to lift yet. I was only running, had a pancake 🍑 and no quads. So as i started weight training...they started getting tighter and tighter...and tighter. And in 2011 stretch denim wasn’t a thing yet. . When I prepped for bikini in 2013 and 2014, I was able to wear them again...I was super lean. And don’t get me wrong, I can get them over my 🍑 now...but it ain’t pretty. . They’ve made 3 moves, and they’ve for me equaled “body goals”. And every time I put them on and they don’t fit me like they did in 2011, I get bummed. I tried them on post detox and to my dismay...they still feel like a boa constrictor wrapped around my thighs and 🍑. Waist is a little loose though 😏. . So I’m giving them away. Just like I don’t need the scale and a number for validation that I love my body just the way it is. I don’t need these jeans as a constant reminder either. My 2011 body was lean but it wasn’t strong. Not strong physically, not strong mentally, not strong financially, not strong at all. 2019 me is strong in all the above areas. I’ve worked my 🍑 off to get to where 2011 me would never have imagined. . So goodbye to this constant closet reminder. I may love this denim, but I love myself more. And a pair of jeans doesn’t validate my body (or my worth) any longer. Things like that have lost their power. . Do you have a pair of jeans holding you back?

Seriously loving these workouts.

It has me wondering about 80 Day Obsession.

For those that have done 80DO how do you get used to the longer workouts, or plan for them.  Especially if you aren’t a morning workout person.

I have gotten spoiled by 20-30 minute effective workouts, but think I might like the challenge of 80DO.

Today’s Transformation Tuesday highlight is brought to you by Kyndra. Her transformation didn’t happen overnight. In fact, it took 17 months of hard work and following our container nutrition program to lose 118 pounds! The portion control system that shows what a healthy portion is and more about food categories. When Kyndra started out, she was unhealthy and didn’t recognize the person she had become. We tried to find something to eat already made . But the amount of sodium, which can cause high blood pressure and Added sugars that can cause weight gain and spike the sugar level in your blood it's pretty alarming. . The other problem, so many types of the call "vegetable oils" which leads to gut problems, inflammation, weight gain and a host of other ills. . As part of my certification in the new nutrition program we are diving into really looking at labels and looking for things like hidden sugars. . . So I did this comparison and did you know pasta sauce is a big place to find hidden sugars. Pasta sauce can have not only a lot of additives but about 12g of sugar. And when most people eat pasta which also has sugars they soak their noodles in the sauce which means even more sugar and most servings are an entire plate vs a proper portion. . . And if you want to wear electric blue 👖 while doing it....I say GO FOR IT!!

Just over a year into marriage and I have already learned so much about teamwork, compromise, and finding what works for my husband and I. One of the things I have learned is the difference in needs when it comes to working out. My husband tagged along to some of my workouts on the aerobic step for a while...but he didn’t stay consistent because it wasn’t what he personally wanted to do or met his fitness goals. Part of being a teammate and compromise is helping your spouse find what they need and putting their needs above your own. Did I love having him do the same program as me? Sure. But did he enjoy it or want to do it for him? Nope. But he has found a weight program that he loves (actually the one I did that got me back into at-home workouts and begin the path of consistent workouts) and he is staying motivated and consistent because it’s meeting his goals. I couldn’t be prouder of him for it. That is one reason why I love this program so much. There are so many options to meet so many different health and fitness needs. I love that we can both workout in our own living room but do programs that motivate us and help us meet our needs. Do you and your significant other workout together or separate? Not all of us experience life the same way, but one thing I do know to be universal is the importance of self care. If you know me, you know it’s something I preach about. I have been in situations where I have lost all control, and didn’t have anything for me. That wasn’t put on me by anybody but myself. I was the one who said that I had to do things at the house, keep up with the cleaning or do all the cooking. This must be an experience many of my friends who are women can relate to, especially those who are mothers. Society tells us women are supposed to be the ones to do these things, to keep house and do the cooking and take care of the kids. But at some point you have to take care of yourself, and I hope I can set an example with what am I doing for myself. I’ve learned in therapy that you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others. That is why it’s important for you to carve out a part of your day to just do you. For me, that looks like waking up every morning before Steve so I can get my workout in and have a little bit of me time in the house. That was the hardest thing at first when living with someone full time. I want to see them and be with them and the instinct is to work my schedule around theirs. Finding me time and self-care time was hard, and it took me over 3 years of being with Steve to do it. He was always supportive and wonderful, I was the one giving myself a personal roadblock from growth by not asking for help when it was needed, or taking time for myself. I understand the burdens we can put on ourselves, and I’m never gonna say that I’ve been through what you have been, but I can try to relate. Not all of us experience life the same way, but one thing I do know to be universal is the importance of self care. If you know me, you know it’s something I preach about. I have been in situations where I have lost all control, and didn’t have anything for me. That wasn’t put on me by anybody but myself. I was the one who said that I had to do things at the house, keep up with the cleaning or do all the cooking. This must be an experience many of my friends who are women can relate to, especially those who are mothers. Society tells us women are supposed to be the ones to do these things, to keep house and do the cooking and take care of the kids. But at some point you have to take care of yourself, and I hope I can set an example with what am I doing for myself. I’ve learned in therapy that you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others. That is why it’s important for you to carve out a part of your day to just do you. It's Transformation Tuesday and I wanted to share my own transformation today. Warning, long post ahead. The picture on the left is extremely difficult for me to share. It was taken the last day we were in our first home we bought. It was the home that I had my babies in. It was the home that Blair and I slaved over and remodeled every single room. We were getting ready to turn it over to renters to move to a new home we were building. I didn't know this picture was being taken. Once I saw the photo I felt shamed. How did I get to this point? I felt that I looked pregnant and let me tell you my baby was in 2nd grade. I had done weight loss programs before and had been successful, so I thought I would take those tools and do it again. So starvation diet here we go, guess what? The weight just kept coming back. I tried everything from gluten free, dairy free to cleanses and it just kept coming back. My energy was at an all time low. About three years ago I started to seriously add fitness to my life, but again it was on/off again because I had excuses. I was fed up. I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired so a year ago I took a leap of faith and tried a new program. Those that know me know that I researched the shit out of that program and I couldn't find any reason to say no. So I dove in feet first with much skepticism to say the least. What I found was beyond what I could have imagined. Not only did I lose over 14 inches, about 5 pounds, and am making better food choices than I ever have in my life. I found a community of women who life each other up and cheer each other on and we come from all over the United States. Pretty cool, huh? I am ready to pay this gift forward and am opening up an April accountability group where we will focus on nutrition first and exercise second. Because let's face it, bodies are made in the kitchen. To feel better and be healthy! I quickly realized I'd also have to say f this & stop worrying so much what others would think... I needed to do this for me and for others. I started coaching and learning as I was going through my own tranformation. Best part was and still is taking others along the journey with me!! #wearenotalone ❤ Some stats 🏆 👏I lost 15 lbs. So you basically have a recipe for disaster 😭😫 About 2 or 3 months post baby I decided it was finally time to listen to this person (my coach) that checked in on me and invited me to join her bootcamp (wasn’t sure how that worked) - I decided I needed that guidance to make considerable and positive changes and see results!!! I also decided that on this journey to reach a healthier and happier me I had to learn to love myself Once I made those decisions and started my journey things changed for the better.... and I know it’s hard girl I see you!!!
