📖BOOK REVIEW📖 📖They Called Me Wyatt by Natasha Tynes 📖Crimes and dramas aren't typically my go to genres when reading. I love everything fiction, fantasy, and sci-fi. Which is funny, because at one point in this book the main character asks, "What's with Americans and this obsession with fantasy and dystopian novels?" . . 📖For a full review check out my good reads profile! ~ 📚: Divergent ✍🏻: Veronica Roth {@vrothbooks} ☺: I started to re-read this book yesterday afternoon and finished it up this morning! I am so in love with Tris and Tobias's relationship throughout this book. The fact that they are both so willing to put their own lives in danger to save the others' is so beautiful, brave and selfless. I would re-read this story every single day of my life if I could, and I don't think that I would ever get sick of it. - D x #bookstagram #books #booknerd #bookworm #bookquotes #booklover #library #literature #fictionbooks #fiction #veronicaroth #divergent #bookreview #bookupdates

Book #9 of 2019: Dragonhaven by Robin McKinley . "Jake lives with his scientist father at the Makepeace Institute of Integrated Dragon Studies in Smokehill National Park. On Jake's first overnight solo in the park he meets a dragon. But this dragon is dying - dying next the human she has killed. The dead man is clearly a poacher who attacked first but that will be lost in the outcry against all dragons. And even more urgent: the dragon has just given birth, and one of the babies is still alive..." . McKinley creates incredibly believable alternate universe in which dragons exist. I found this a slow read mostly because I was low on time this month but also I found the main characters voice hard at times to grasp. It's very realistically portraying a teenager and tends to jump around excitedly and ramble and it took awhile for me to get into the flow. This is just a purely lovely story, there's some super sad parts, but balanced very well with happy moments. The world is built with so much depth to it, just enough reality to be believed. Jake and Lois's relationship is really lovely to read about as they come to grasp the task they have undertaken. I was pleasantly surprised by a nice happy ending. (For once!) . #2019booklist #bookchallenge #readingchallenge #instabookclub #bumblesbooks #bookreview #bookstagram #readersofig #booklovers #dragonhaven #robinmckinley

In the past 24 hours I've bought three books. Which is fine. Except...I've already read two of them and I'm reading an ARC of the third 🙈🙈. I have a problem I know, but with books this good how can I resist?! 📚 I was lucky enough to meet the very lovely and witty @jospainauthor at @waterstonesnewc last night and listen to her talk about her new book Dirty Little Secrets (which is brilliant by the way!). Whilst I was there I picked up a copy of The Confession which I read last year and adored. And I got it signed too👍🏻😊. 📚 I'm a huge fan of @katie_khan and just had to pick up a copy of The Light Between Us, because a) it is a bloody good book about the strength of female friendship b)it has a very very pretty cover (I am so shallow) and c) Katie was kind enough to mention me in the acknowledgements which was a very lovely thing indeed. ❤ 📚 I'm reading The Wych Elm by Tana French at the moment and OhMyGod it is AMAZING. I had £10 on my Waterstones Plus card so just had to treat myself to a hardback copy which is signed. AND JUST LOOK AT THOSE SPRAYED EDGES! I'm in love. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕 📚 📚 📚 #jospain #theconfession #dirtylittlesecrets #katiekhan #thelightbetweenus #holdbackthestars #tanafrench #thewychelm #book #books #bookshelf #bookish #book #bookblog #bookbloggers #bookstagram #bibliophile #bookworm #booklover #booklove #bookaddict #bookgram #bookblogging #bookreview #instabook #instaread #readandreview #greatread #greatbook #review

QOTD: Do you read illustrated editions or concept art books? 🖤 AOTD: Yep! Although they are sometime difficult to carry around (these books are more for staying at home than for going on an adventure in the world!), I absolutely love delving into illustrated editions and concept art books. As a visual learner, I enjoy that there is often one (or multiple!) visual representations of the story to accompany the text. I still let me imagination run wild, but sometimes it is helpful to have a little starting point of what someone else envisions. 🖤 For those who are interested, here is the synopsis for the mysterious background surrounding The Chronicles of Harris Burdick: 🌟 This inspired collection of short stories is based on the original illustrations of Chris Van Allburg in his esteemed and mysterious The Mysteries of Harris Burdick, originally published in 1984, and features many remarkable, best-selling authors in the worlds of both adult and children's literature: Sherman Alexie, M.T. Anderson, Kate DiCamillo, Cory Doctorow, Jules Feiffer, Stephen King, Tabitha King, Lois Lowry, Gregory Maguire, Walter Dean Myers, Linda Sue Park, Louis Sachar, Jon Scieszka, Lemony Snicket, and Chris Van Allsburg himself. 🌟 Van Allsburg's Harris Burdick illustrations have evoked such wonderment and imagination since Harris Burdick's original publication in 1984; many have speculated or have woven their own stories to go with his images. More than ever, the illustrations send off their eerie call for text and continue to compel and pick at the reader's brain for a backstory--a threaded tale behind the image. In this book, we've collected some of the best storytellers to spin them. 🖤 Does this description intrigue you?

#QOTD : What was the last translated work you read?⁣ .⁣ I read #OnePartWoman by #PerumalMurugan and I should say it has rekindled my interest in reading #AsianLiterature again⁣ .⁣ The book holds mirror towards the societal pressure and stigma towards couples who cannot conceive, which is still pertinent even in the #India and other so called modern nations⁣ .⁣ There are racial and sexual slurs, no doubt (not more than other novels of the genre though), but nothing that os worth the calls for the riots and calls for banning the book. The Luminous Dead is a sci-fi horror novel, which is not usually something I'm drawn to. The synopsis of this one was so damn captivating that I had to give it a chance, and I'm so glad that I did! I loved this book, and tore through it since I had to know what was going on. I have not read anything from Caitlin Starling before, but I'm definitely a fan now. It is truly impressive to write a book set in a closed environment with two characters, and be able to hold my attention the entire way through. It was so mysterious to me, and I was dying to found out what led up to the story, and what was going to happen. There are a lot of secrets and lies in this book, and I really enjoyed watching everything unravel. I also liked that this book had two queer women as the main characters, and it was really refreshing since I have not seen a ton of horror with F/F relationships. There are definitely some, but I haven't come across that many (also, let me know if you have any to recommend). My full 5⭐ review is up on GoodReads! Thank you so much to @harpervoyagerus for sending me a copy. The Luminous Dead will be out on 4/2. . . Oh my!!! Sometimes a book is just a book. You like it or you don't, feeling somewhat indifferent from having read it. But sometimes you read one that hits you right in the heart and something resonates deep within you. This for me was such a book. I laughed, I cried, I felt deeply saddened but also uplifted and hopeful. It left me feeling rather emotional to say the least, but I think in a good way. This is a book that will stay with me, that's for sure. It is a beautiful tale of survival and kindness, and how when people day they are "fine" it doesn't always mean they are. "You can't know how much it means to me, to have a friend - a genuine, caring friend. You saved my life." 💕 . . . #eleanoroliphantiscompletelyfine #whatabook #kindnesscostsnothing #bekind #whenfinemeanssomethingmore #mentalhealth #itsgoodtotalk #itsgoodtoread #bookworm #bookreview #10outof10

Currently Reading: The Accusation by Bandi . . Written under the pseudonym Bandi, meaning “firefly”, these short stories were smuggled out of North Korea, where the writer still lives today. They paint a heavy picture of life under totalitarian rule. From the uneasiness that sets in ones’ bones and causes you to doubt everyone including your own wife, to the destruction of culture and generational heritage, to the literal crushing of civilians. Each stories style winds it’s message around its fingers like string then pulls it taught into a frantic and complicated knot. Where the tensions and expectations, the constant watching, tangle and you are left looking at the mess of the situation. Unable to unravel it. And there is no way to. What is truly heartbreaking about these stories is the matter-of-fact-ness of the suffering. The endings are how it had to turn out, with all the interwoven elements of the society working to keep the knotted lie together. . . The writing itself is something altogether beautiful and haunting, as if taking a snapshot which they know they may never get the chance to again. In all truth, they might not. . This book is very much #worththefine even if only to read it twice. . . “This is the song that sums up his life, painting a picture of communism’s’ shining future, when everyone will eat meat and while rice every day, wear silk clothes, and live in a roof-tiled house.”

Voices of Powerful Women by Zoe Sallis (2/26/19 from Watkins Publishing #partner ) . Summary: A fantastically inspiring collection of interviews with 40 successful and empowering women, including Maya Angelou, Isabel Allende, Mary Robinson and Shami Chakrabati, exploring their challenges and achievements. . The book is structured around ten questions, with the 40 interviewees providing a pithy and insightful answer to each one. Topics range from influential early experiences, inspirations in life and most admired female figures to causes of anger, greatest fears, how to change the world and advice for the younger generation. . My Review: The cover and the title of this book caught my eye while I was searching Netgalley. Once I began reading I realized there were some serious formatting issues that were causing problems with the flow of reading. I try not to let these issues distract me because lots of ARCs (electronic and physical) have formatting and spelling errors that are corrected before the final version of the book is released, but this one was really tough. The concept of asking powerful women to answer the same handful of questions to hear all of their different responses sounds like a great idea, but without context to to their answers I was unable to make the connection as to why they felt that way. Even looking beyond the terrible formatting, I wouldn't recommend this one. . . #bookstagram #bookphotography #igreads #bookblogger #bookblog #bookreview #bookreviewer #amreading

Who loves reading 🙋🏽‍♀️ Just finished ‘Before we were yours’ by Lisa Wingate ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ / 5 This book was SO good! I can’t believe it’s based on true historic events. It was absolutely heartbreaking. It had the perfect mix between past and present, it shows the love between sisters and the memories we hang onto as children.

“Who could that be at this hour?” By Snicket is the bedtime read-aloud with my eight year old son. One chapter each night before bed takes about 8-10 minutes depending on how fast or slow your child comprehended the spoken word, and how fast you speak. A quirky mystery that makes him eager to hear what happens next. Fifth grade and up could read this book independently. There are some higher level vocabulary words that may need to be explained to children. #bookreview #readaloud #readaloudrevival #educationwithheart

Had THE absolute most charming time with French author Edouard Louis today, watching literally every person he met fall in love with him. He is just as brilliant and insightful and unaffected and generous in real life as in his writing, so it was a real joy to accompany him round sunny London. 🌞 . If you’re in London, you can head to @gaysthewordbookshop, @foylesforbooks, and @goldsborobooks for limited, freshly signed first edition copies of his new book, WHO KILLED MY FATHER. 📕 (Look at that cover...) . I wrote a review of the book a few posts ago if you want to find out more about it >>> (or if you want an actual professional opinion lol there are loads of fervent reviews in newspapers atm eg Financial Times this morning, Observer a few days ago, etc!) . 🇫🇷 . #whokilledmyfather #edouardlouis #theendofeddy #historyofviolence #bookreview #bookstagram #londonbookshops #frenchbooks #authorsigning #signedcopies #signedbooks #firstedition #publishing #londonbooks #vintageinthewild #harvillsecker #booksintranslation #amreading #igreads #bookcover

Today I finished reading the wonderful SONG OF SORROW by @melindasalisbury ! It’s been on my anticipated reads list since I finished the first in the duology - Mel certainly knows how to leave us all wanting more! 💙 I loved that this duology was nothing like what I expected when I first picked up State of Sorrow. The twists, turns, and - frankly - the political element weren’t what I expected but they are definitely the things I love most about these books! I can’t think of another series even slightly like this - proof again that @melindasalisbury writes in such a unique way! 🌿 Also, can we all please take a moment to appreciate THIS COVER ✨ 🙌🏼 • Have you read either of the SORROW books? What did you love the most about SONG OF SORROW? I need to chat about this book!! ✨ • #books #bookphoto #songofsorrow #melindasalisbury #booklove #ukya #ukyabook #YAfiction #bookstagram #bookish #bookishlove #bookphotography #bookcommunity #booknerd #bookreview #TBR #newread #scholastic #stateofsorrow

Comics in bed. What’s your house rule on reading at bed time? Book lights OK or do you have a strict books-out-of-bed rule? We’re the second one because Eva would never sleep but I admit that reading late into the night was one of the my favorite things when I was little so we might ease up this summer. Thoughts?? #readinginbed #archiecomics

Many thanks to @flatiron_books for sending me this ARC copy of The Guest Book by Sarah Blake. - - The Guest Book follows three generations of a powerful American family, The Milton’s. In 1935, Kitty and Ogden Milton seem to have it all: a loving marriage, happy children and a beautiful home. When tragedy strikes the family, Ogden purchases an island in Maine in hopes to bring back joy to his family. Years later, the five grandchildren of Kitty and Ogden are sitting around a table with a lawyer being told they may have to sell the Maine island house. Evie, does not want to sell the house and believes there was something important and unspoken, by her mother and grandmother, about their family and things that occurred there — and Evie wants to find out what that is. This novel weaves American past with present and discusses how racism and power has been embedded into Americans throughout the generations. - - - I finished this book in two days; it reeled me right in. A happy family who comes across tragedy — I wanted to see if they’d become happy again. The unspoken words — I wanted to see if they’d become spoken. - - The Guest Book hits shelves May 2019; I recommend you read it!

💬 If someone you loved confessed to a crime would you keep their secret? ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Synopsis:⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Emma’s darkest secrets are buried in the past. But the truth can’t stay hidden for long.⁣ Emma is a loving wife, a devoted mother…and an involuntary killer. For years she’s been hiding the dead body of the teacher who seduced her as a teen.⁣ It’s a secret that might have stayed buried if only her life had been less perfect. A promotion for Emma’s husband, Alex, means they can finally move to a bigger home with their young son. But with a buyer lined up for their old house, Emma can’t leave without destroying every last trace of her final revenge…⁣ Returning to the shallow grave in the garden, she finds it empty. The body is gone.⁣ Panicked, Emma confesses to her husband. But this is only the beginning. Soon, Alex will discover things about her he’ll wish he’d learned sooner. And others he’ll long to forget.⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 📝 My Review: ⁣ ⁣ Emma’s life 4 years ago was turned upside down when she committed the worst crime any person can. In order to protect those she loves she keeps this secret even though it’s slowing eating away at her and destroying the life she desperately tried to save.⁣ I sympathized with Emma and while I didn’t agree with all of her actions, what she went through as a young girl was heartbreaking. The author wrote the story in such a way that you experienced many emotions right along with these characters. I had many theories while reading and while it could be predictable at times it didn’t take away the suspense felt. This was a very entertaining Thriller but the end for me fell flat. It was rushed with not much explained after the big finale. I still enjoyed this book and would recommend to fans of this genre. Hi friends! I have been so busy lately — sorry for the break in posting! Here it is, my first full review! I recently picked up a book from a @reddit r/nosleep author, “I’m a Therapist, and My Patient is Going to be the Next School Shooter”. . . . Let me tell you, this is impossible to put down. I read it as it was published to @reddit. I ordered the book as soon as it was available, and I’ve already reread it — it’s just that good. You’ll never see this one coming. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 @drharpertherapy has definitely got me hooked. . . . #bookstagram #bookreview #newbook #bookporn #drharper #reddit #nosleep #shelfie #bookclub #bookdragon

Life’s a bit crazy busy with a career I love and two little people under two years old, so I really have to plan the time to read, learn and develop my own knowledge. This book was recommended by a client, who is now a good friend and I’ve got to say it’s pretty good. It’s an FBI hostage negotiators tips and tricks to well ... negotiate. If we think it’s hard getting clients to agree a price increase, this book certainly puts that into perspective and maybe it will even help me win a few ‘arguments’ with my toddler! #readinglist #bookreview #cheshiremarketingmentor #smallbusinessideas #marketing

Man tokios istorijos yra nektaras sielai, penas dvasiai. Okayyyyyy I got the entire Shiva Trilogy as a gift in 2017 and I don't know why I was so sceptical to start reading it...now that I have read the first part . I wonder why did I not start it earlier.. OMG. This is such a beautiful and an intelligent way of presenting mythology...The way Amish has logically put all the famous characters and made a story out of it is commendable. Shiva the main character is so deeply imprinted on my mind now that I literally keep thinking about what would happen next in his life.. The book doesn't get slow or boring at any point and keeps you engrossed till the very end... “I'm tired of the news. I'm tired of the way it makes things spectacular that aren't, and deals so simplistically with what's truly appalling. I'm tired of the vitriol. I'm tired of anger. I'm tired of the meanness. I'm tired of selfishness. I'm tired of how we're doing nothing to stop it. I'm tired of how we're encourageing it. I'm tired of the violence that's on it's way, that's coming, that hasn't happened yet. I'm tired of liars. I'm tired of sanctified liars. I'm tired of how those liars have let this happen. I'm tired of having to wonder whether they did it out of stupidity or did it on purpose. I'm tired of lying governments. I'm tired of people not caring whether they're being lied to anymore. I'm tired of being made to feel this fearful.” . . . . The central story, is the love story of sorts between Elisabeth and her elderly neighbour, Daniel. We see them in many different iterations, during her childhood (where her mother wanted her to stay away from him) through her adulthood when she is his only visitor while he is unconscious in a hospital. He encourages her to be a reader, to use her imagination, to think. . . . I finished this book two days ago and to be completely honest I’m still not sure how I feel about it. If you like a linear and straightforward plot this is probably not for you. I really struggled with Ali Smiths prose style as it’s all over the place, probably why my opinion about this book is also all over the place😂 ‘Autumn’ is the first in a quartet of novels by Smith, and ‘Winter’ is the next on my tbr list...maybe I’ll have a more definitive review and opinion on the next novel . . . Have you read Autumn and/or Winter? Thoughts?

I'm tired of being made to feel this fearful.”

✨📖 Book Review 📖✨ Just give me more Calla, Jonah, and Alaska, please. 💗 • Honestly, I’m not going to have anything new to say about this book than what’s already been said. Like the way that it was so wonderfully written and makes you feel all the feels. How atmospheric the setting is in the way Alaska becomes an intense and wild character all of its own. And the way you absolutely fall in love with all of the characters, especially Calla and Jonah with their laugh-out-loud witty banter. I loved every last thing about this book, and was so sad to turn the last page. • I especially appreciated how it was so much more than just a classic enemies to lovers romance. It’s equally a story of community and friendship, and the ways that some of those that come to be our closest “family” aren’t always actually related at all. It’s about being there for one another through the good, the bad, and the ugly. • Seriously readers, if you haven’t already, go pick this book up or at the least consider adding it to your TBR (yes, that’s me lovingly being book bossy 😉). This one is definitely going on my favorite reads of 2019 list. 👏🏻 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 - #megansalwaysreadingbookreview

The God of Small Things is a creative novel that both fascinated and confused me. The descriptions were vivid and unlike anything else I've read before: her prose and command of the English language was remarkable. However, the choppy writing and the fact that it was not written in chronological order (with no indicator of *when* you are, time changes from one paragraph to the next with no warning) didn't work for me. Maybe those cleverer than I will appreciate this more, but I felt like I wasn't sure who/where/when we were at any given point of time. Still, the writing of individual sentences was fabulous! Mixed feelings overall on this one, but in the end a 3 star book for me ⭐⭐⭐ What's been your favorite book of 2019 so far? Well, I've finished The Library Book and I want to share my thoughts with you! • "Our visits to the library we're never long enough for me. The place was so bountiful. I loved wandering around the bookshelves, scanning the spines until something happened to catch my eye. Those visits were dreamy, frictionless interludes that promised I would leave richer than I arrived." • Review: ⭐⭐✨/5 TLB has some really great things about it. For instance, I feel so much appreciation and gratitude for my local library after reading about all the things that go unnoticed to keep a library open to serve the public. What I couldn't seem to look past (in fact I had to go back a few pages at times) is that the author spends too much time dragging out some information that isn't really pertinent to the story of the library's fire and its rehabilitation. It lost my interest quite a bit and I ended up just skimming because I was growing impatient. It doesn't usually take me two weeks to finish a book, but I just couldn't fall in love with this one which was just so upsetting! The writing really was beautiful, though, I just didn't quite like the flow. Did you enjoy The Library Book? What were the best parts for you? • • • #bookstagram #bookreview #review #library #justreadppl #bookgram #instabooks #read #bookish #bibliophile

Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam are a pair of canine characters that for one, have absolutely BRILLIANT names, but also, if you follow lots of bookish accounts here on Insta, you are likely to have seen them appear on your radars recently. With the upcoming release of the fourth chapter book, (The Aliens Are Coming on 7th March - which we're so looking forward to!), I thought it a good time to share the story that introduced us to these lovable, but totally useless burglars... Shifty and Sam haven't had the best of luck in their careers as burglars. After trying and failing to rob a book shop, a bike shop, a bank and a zoo, they decide that they will need to do something spectacular to pull off a less than spectacular plan... They are going to burgle their neighbours houses! First, all they have to do is bake some doughnuts, fruit pies and cupcakes to lure the neighbours to a party. Then they'll be able to sneak off and roundup as much as they can before the neighbours notice they've even gone. Simple! Right? Just wait and see... SWAG was poetically written by @corderoyt & magnificently illustrated by @steven_lenton It was published by @nosycrow (who also include a QR code on the inside cover so that littlies can listen to the story with the book on their own if they want to - genius!) #BooksThatWorkWonders #shiftyandsam #welovebooks (This book was bought by me to start our Shifty and Sam collection 😊)

My growing love of Kate Atkinson continues! This is an excellently written story, the second in the Jackson Brodie series. I loved the way the stories of the individual characters were woven together, each drifting in to each other’s lives as the mystery unravels. An absolute shock revelation of the final sentence that I did not see coming as well! "Bridge of Clay" by Markus Zusak | 🌟🌟🌟🌟| . . . . Being one of many who consider "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak to be one of their favourite books (if not their absolute favourite) I obviously had to give this one a go. "Bridge of Clay" is completely engaging with the uniqness of the Dunbar boys and specifically the mystery of Clay and his inner turmoil with their father. It follows the boys dealing with difficult events and attempting to reconnect with their father. This novel is clearly about family and the importance of dealing with grief and forgiveness. It delves deeply into their relationships with others who play a key role in determining why each of the Dunbar boys are so unique as characters. Zusak describes these relationships through sheer emotional connection and is something I will always appreciate in his writing. There's not much I disliked about this novel. I only feel that it was a little confusing sometimes as the narrative jumps through time and back again quite frequently and from character to character frequently as well, so the way it was organized didn't quite make sense in my head all the time. This may also be because I did not finish this novel as quickly as I had expected I would, but I still enjoyed it a lot. The narrative and characters are much more complicated and have a lot more depth than those in "The Book Thief" in the sense that the text becomes a lot heavier because of the pasts of each character that you get to delve deeply into. However this makes the novel a bit slow in some parts, just because there's lots of information about everyone to go through. For this reason I can understand why others on booktube and bookstagram ended up putting this book down. I highly recommend it to those who fell in love with Zusak's poetic, emotional writing, which is strongly felt in all of his novels and particularly "Bridge of Clay". I can tell this beautiful story and many of its characters will stay with me for a long time. #book #bookstagram #review #bookreview #lovebooks #read #bridgeofclay #newtobookstagram #goodreads #booklover

Dry - Neal Shusterman and Jarrod Shusterman ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 •••• QOTD: what’s your favourite stand alone YA novel? •••• If you’re looking for a stand-alone young adult novel with, what I found to be, realistic teenaged narratives, terrifying societal implications, well rounded and satisfying plot points, and hard hitting, poignant prose - DRY is the novel for you. Set against the backdrop of Southern California, DRY follows a group of adolescents as they navigate their way through a regional drought. This novel made me uncomfortable- there is no other way to describe it. The Shustermans have crafted a story that so closely resembles numerous real life events that it is hard to walk away from DRY without feeling the overbearing weight of societies environmental footprint. The most disturbing and terrifying aspects of DRY revolve around peoples reaction and response to pandemonium, more so than the cause of it. #book #bookstagram #books #read #reads #YAFiction #bibliophile #bookshelf #bookreview #bookaddict #booksofinstagram #nealshusterman #drought

Korean stories have something phlegmatic. .. Pachinko by Min Jin Lee is a novel which will take you through an emotional roller coaster ride. .. This book talks about the tough times Korean people went through in Japan. .... The writer has done a phenomenal job specifically in describing the details. ... The protagonist Sunja, who has a relationship with a Yakuza finds out that he is married one day. But till that time, she was already pregnant by that man. ... After knowing, that the man was married, she decides she won't marry him or be in any sort of relations with him. ... A christian minister accepts Sunja as her wife and also gives his name to Sunja's son from the previous relationship. Also Sunja gives birth to another boy and they live as two brothers. .. Finally, the brothers find out the truth when they grow up and it takes a drastic turn. .... This book has everything, be it mother's love towards her children, father's affection, tough times and how the family goes through that, brothers affection towards each other and also the love angle is explained fruitfully. ... After knowing, that the man was married, she decides she won't marry him or be in any sort of relations with him. ...
A christian minister accepts Sunja as her wife and also gives his name to Sunja's son from the previous relationship. Also Sunja gives birth to another boy and they live as two brothers. ..
Finally, the brothers find out the truth when they grow up and it takes a drastic turn. ....
This book has everything, be it mother's love towards her children, father's affection, tough times and how the family goes through that, brothers affection towards each other and also the love angle is explained fruitfully. ...
Each and everything about this book is incredible. ..
I really recommend you all to read this book.

This book really was not for me. I was optimistic at first; the book felt quirky and unusual, and I was interested to see how things would turn out. By the end though, I felt that there was virtually no character development, I had a really hard time relating to any of the characters, and there were a lot of graphic/disturbing descriptions which I felt didn’t add anything to the plot, so ended up being unnecessarily uncomfortable for the reader (for me at least). When I finished it, I just felt quite happy to move onto something else. 🙈 Alas, there are plenty more books in the bookcase... 2/5 🌟 overall.

I just finished Emergency Contact, and I really enjoyed it! It was just a cute easy read (although some parts had some serious depth!) Sam and Penny’s relationship felt authentic, and I liked both of their characters. My only issue was I felt like there were a ton of side stories that weren’t necessary to the plot, and I found myself wanting to skip ahead at some parts. All in all I enjoyed it though! 3/5⭐️’s . . #bookstagram #bookreview #readandreview #bookreviewer #booklover #readersofinstagram #bookish

TITUS GROAN - Mervyn Peake A gothic fantasy classic. I enjoyed the lush atmospheric descriptions of the castle setting, but the actual storytelling meandered badly toward the end (w/ a long/oddly staged fight sequence) and became a chore to finish. Still, I'm compelled to read the sequel. 3.5/5⭐️ #titusgroan #mervynpeake #fantasy #gormenghast #bookreview

Before I say anything else about this absolutely delightful piece of art let me just pull your attention to the cover because wooooo is it eye-catching! Conveying the vibes and themes of the whole collection in one go~ Sometimes you want to read for the fun of it, to get into the vibe and just go with the flow; this collection is one such. And coming from an Indian author? A much-needed respite from the cliché romances and realllllyyy brilliant idea uwu One thing I really liked was that the author maintained her theme throughout the book. There was some overly complicated vocabulary but that kind of added to its charm, at least for me. The morbidity, dark themes, near hardcore stuff showcased so well as to not send you flying away cringing in nastiness or disgust; lovely~ I was low-key afraid that the author might go overkill, especially after reading the first poem but it wasn’t phewww The first one was kind of intimidating, what with it’s complicated word usage, and I had to re-read it a couple of times but turning over to the next works either I got used to it or it got a bit simpler lol High-key impressed by her skills though; just imagining the time and effort that must’ve gone into it especially for a person like me whos greatest alliteration to date has been DaeguDump, woahhTuT All in all, really impressed, especially with her ability to venture into a new field in Indian Literature and doing so well in it. Definitely, recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟 #book #bookreview #krimsonravyn #goth #poem #poetry #poetrycollection #indianauthor

It’s a good feeling when an author lives up to your high expectations and spins up a story with a good takeaway. #OneUponAReunion by Nithya Sashi ( @writernithya ) is a self-published novella available on Amazon as an e-book which I managed to finish reading in two sittings. Categorized as a #romanticsuspense , it follows the story of a married woman, Nirmala a.k.a. Nimmu who is still reeling from her past after being jilted by her former lover, Suresh. Nimmu and her lovely husband, Sreenu, put in a great deal of effort to make their frayed relationship work. The dynamics between the two are beautiful. I like the kind of understanding and respect they have for each other. The author evokes strong emotions and succeeds in making the reader in me care for the characters even if their actions can sometimes come across as unlikable. Kudos to Nithya for the good character development in the story and the vivid descriptions which make me remember the scenes even after I have completed her book. It’s a well-written literary fiction. The author talks about struggles which every romantic couple can relate to and the kind of decisions one makes to keep the love intact. That’s the strongest aspect of the book. What follows after is a series of incidents, including a reunion with the protagonist’s school friends, that leads to a murder of someone in their batch. The rest of the book is a whodunit that slowly unlocks the identity of the killer. Having said that, the ending is abrupt considering how well-developed the first half of the book is. The suspense and resolution are satisfactory if not mind-blowing. In spite of this, I enjoyed the book. There’s depth in the story. The writing here is one of the best I have read in a long time thanks to the great command the author has over the language. As the author comes up with beautiful wordplays, I can’t help but make a note of her constructions using the highlights on Kindle. 4/5⭐ #bookreview #bookreviewer #kindlebooks #amazonkindle #indianauthor #bookstagram #indianbookstagrammer #literaryfiction #beautifulprose #romance #murdermystery

This creative package brought a smile to my face! As a melancholy by nature, I have to admit that being a mom of a teen starting in 2017 has been bittersweet, and I still have a decade left until my children are in their 20s. Seeing this powerful quote card and the paintbrushes 🖌 brought joy to my artist heart 💜 and ushered hope into my heart on my journey as a mom of teens and tweens. Thank you @conniealbers and @navpressbooks for this beautiful package and opportunity to serve on your launch team. I am looking forward to finding more hope in #parentingbeyondtherules and sharing my review with my tribe soon!

2.21.19 This book resonated with me and I still find myself thinking about it even a few months after reading it. Originally I had borrowed this book from my local library, however I ended up loving this book so much I bought a copy for my own bookshelf 📖 . . Set in America, which has been taken over by hyper-conservative extremists, this dystopian novel delves into a world where women are only allotted 100 words per day and are unable to work. One of the main characters, Jean, is a neuroscientist and isn’t ready to give up her rights without a fight. This book teaches the importance of using your voice, women’s representation in government and society, along with the need for equality 💪🏻 . . 💫The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quich💫 I read this book awhile back and I have to say the impression it left on me is still very strong. I loved the mental health representation in the book as well as the romance. It was heartbreaking and difficult to read at times. Nevertheless, I recommend this book to everybody ( ofcourse bare in mind all the trigger warnings about mental health). It's one of my favorite books and I really want to reread it someday in the future! Have you read this book? What are your thoughts on it? Have a nice evening 🍓

"Do you want me to sign the papers and make it official, Ashley?" Do I have a choice? I stare straight ahead, shrug my shoulders and mumble, "I guess so." In three words, it is done. 🍁 "Three little words" by Ashley Rhodes-Courter is a painful memoir of spending long nine years in different foster homes. This incredibly emotional book was tough to read, but gives inspiration to troubled youth who feel as if their lives, actions, and ideas don't matter. . . . #bookscommunity #instareads #bookphotos #instabook #bookish #bookobsessed #reader #bookstagrammer #bookaesthetic #bookreader #bookacholic #bookshelfporn #shelfie #currentlyreading #bibliophile #bookworm #epicread #bookreview #reviews #booksblogger

If I can’t go out for an adventure, I will always find a good story to read. From sci-fi books to romance books. • Reading about self empowerment and women taking charge in this generation is amazing. Starting their own businesses and helping other do the same. • It’s truly inspiring! Reading their stories is just a great exeperience and honor to have and to learn what they’ve been through. Honestly I can keep going but these books are so good. I couldn’t put them down! • If you need a good read and your sitting there on your couch or struggling to decide in a bookstore, I’d totally recommend these to you • And these won’t be the only ones! There’s more reading to do and more to come! Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell Girlboss by Sophia Amoruso Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han I’ll Give You The Sun by Jandy Nelson

Yamamoto Tsunetomo was given credit for contributing largely to “the way of the samurai,” other wise known as “bushido” (way of the warrior) a way of life that samurai would follow. Most of his writings which were dictated in “Hagakure, the book of the samurai” are relatively transferable to all aspects of life. This one for instance, determination is the strength that breads success. With unwavering determination you can inevitably accomplish any goal. Most people quit or slack off when things become more difficult. This can either make you fail or delay your goals. However, with unwavering determination you are barely delayed because you are still pushing through the obstacle at full speed. #businessowner #businesswoman #businesscards #businessman #entrepreneur #entrepreneurlife #entrepreneurship #entrepreneurquotes #books #knowledge #knowledgeispower #book #bookreview #bookrecommendations #dalecarnegie #howtowinfriendsandinfluencepeople #financialfreedom #finance #investing #invest #investment #samurai #warrior #fighter

How to win friends and influence people is a self-improvement and motivational book written by best seller Dale Carnegie. If I were to suggest this book (which I very much do) I would have to describe it as a revised timeless classic. Each chapter is filled with stories that reinforces the principles that the chapter is based on. Most of the stories are interesting as they are rich in history and information. The stories Dale Carnegie tells act as a time machine, taking you back through 1800’s and 1900’s. This is done in a way as to keep the readers attention; it is not like reading a dull history book or a self-improvement book with even more dull stories. At the beginning, middle and end of each chapter the principle is reiterated in order to help the reader retain those principles. If that weren’t enough at the end of each section (the book is split into 4 sections) the principles are then again put into a short list. I love this book and I have learned quite a bit from it; I absolutely suggest this book! 10 out of 10! #business #businessowner #businesswoman #businesscards #businessman #entrepreneur #entrepreneurlife #entrepreneurship #entrepreneurquotes #books #knowledge #knowledgeispower #book #bookreview #bookrecommendations #dalecarnegie #howtowinfriendsandinfluencepeople #financialfreedom #finance #investing #invest #investment #investor

High Performance Habits by Brendon Burchard, as I reviewed in a earlier book review post; is amazing in many aspects. One being that I believe it to be one of the first contributors to my mindset change. Adversity is a big issue in society and for the most part people tend to deal with adversity and go about their lives. However, they’re only dealing with it, when they should be learning from it and cultivating life lessons from adversity. Once you are able to do this it no longer seems like adversity, and this is a mindset that will help you be more successful in every aspect of life. @brendonburchard #business #businessman #businesswoman #businesscard #entrepreneur #entrepreneurlife #entrepreneurship #success #adversity #overcomingobstacles #overcomingdepression #life #live #financialfreedom #financial #book #learn #bookreview

Brendon Burchard is a world leading high performance coach and a New York Times bestseller. He has written bestsellers such as The Millionaire Messenger and The Motivation Manifesto. . . . This self help book was named one of amazons top 3 best business and leadership books of 2017. High Performance Habits is rooted deeply into the self improvement category of books. This book goes into motivational stories and strategies as well as delves deep into habit changing techniques. In this book Brendon mentions multiple times the amount of research and time used collecting data and information from known high performers. . . . The book at times can have a in your face honesty about scenarios that might relate to you, I found this both a good and helpful part of the book. I had a hate-love relationship with the stories that were told in the book. One or two of the stories were like beating a dead horse with a stick however having said that, the love strongly out weighs the hate. This is because so few were this repetitive, out of the many that were so very informative as well as entertaining. . . . Brendon Burchard gives actual techniques in the book in order to help you change your habits, some of which I use on a daily basis now! #bookstagram #bookrecommendations #bookreviews #entrepreneurship #success #financialfreedom #rich #cashflowquadrant #business #excited #courage #business #businessowner #businesswoman #businesscards #businessman #entrepreneur #entrepreneurlife #entrepreneurship #entrepreneurquotes #books #knowledge #knowledgeispower #book #bookreview #bookrecommendations #dalecarnegie #howtowinfriendsandinfluencepeople #financialfreedom #finance #investing #invest #investment #investor
