TIME CHANGES THINGS ✨
Won’t change my love for food or grocery shopping though. Exciting adventures ahead... #bestiesveganparadise
This is Lou Lou. She was rescued with all those other sweethearts that were trapped in pools of manure at the egg farm in April. There were chickens loose all around, but we were focused on the ones that were stuck. Then I saw her. She was cowering along the wall. She had a large wound on her back that was literally green. I picked her up and carried her to be with the others that we’d be taking with us.
Out of all the rescued hens, she was in the worst condition. She had large patches of featherless skin, and other large wounds/scabs. She also had a “malalignment of the the spine” likely due to blunt trauma to the spine, which was responsible for her immobility. Slowly she seemed to be getting better. The condition her body was in was 100% the direct result of to the way she was housed and handled at the egg farm. Despite being brave and strong, her body gave in and she had to be euthanized about 20 days after her rescue.
She died around 6 months ago. I will never forget her. I have no pictures of her at the barn but that image will be with me forever. As will she, on my hand. Beautifully tattooed by @asiarain 🖤
Thank you to all the folks that- publicly and privately- rescue animals. It’s heartbreaking work, because we can’t rescue them all. (Although we will one day...) But the ones we do rescue, they share their story. Their stories will help to save future generations from the atrocities that humanity has deemed necessary to inflict upon them. It’s immoral. It’s unjust. It’s unnecessary. Please stop.
As most of you know, it's been a rough year and a half dealing with Darwin's health. We had to finally say good bye after 10 years of nothing but love and great memories with this amazing dog. It's been just over 2 weeks since losing Darwin and it's been hard as we all miss him so much. I was concerned for Stephy as this would be the second brother she has lost in her lifetime and would soon be losing Nova as she is leaving us in December. Stephy would be all alone and my poor girl is almost 13 years old. We made a decision to start looking at rescues to help us all with the transition and we wanted the new rescue to learn from Darwin. Darwin was a great alpha. Initially Phil wanted a puppy but there are so many senior dogs that need a good home. We found our match. It was an older bonded pair. Bonded pairs are hard to adopt and so are senior dogs so they didn't have a lot going for them. We found these 2 amazing Chihuahuas at the SPCA in Maple Ridge. One is 14.5 years old and the other is almost 9. It was instant love. Phil was NEVER a small dog person but these guys stole his heart and mine. We didn't think Darwin would have so little time with them as they only got just shy of a month together. The rescues fell in love with Darwin instantly. Who didn't love Darwin??? ❤️ It's sad that Darwin is gone but it wasn't fair to let him suffer. He will always be remembered and loved. The oldest from the 2 new rescues doesn't have much time left either. He is almost 15 and Chihuahuas only live between 14 - 20 years. We realize we will lose him soon but we couldn't bare the though of him dying in a shelter in his last years. He is loved and doing so well, we know we will have many years of new memories with him. Let me introduce Einstein (14.5 year old) and Frank (9 year old). ❤️ #animallovers#animals#nocrueltytoanimals#mercyforanimals#veganfortheanimals#veganfortheplanet#veganforlife#mansbestfriend#dogsofinstagram#dogs#iloveanimals#animalsofinstagram#adoptdontshop#ilovedogs#bullmastiff#masteweiler#mastweiler#rottweiler#charlesdarwin#darwin#dianaszoo#olddog#oldmandog#lovemydog#choosecompassion#sayinggoodbye#sayinggoodbyeishard#bestfriend
Always vegan & cruelty free 💁🏽♀️ / been using the rehab shampoo and veganese conditioner for years now and it’s worked wonders for my hair ✨
I never thought I’d become this person but here I am 🤜🏽 I’ve learnt so much this year and the thing that I’ve focused on the most is really looking after yourself physically, mentally and spiritually. I can’t stress how much that has changed my life. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still up for parties here and there but I go to them with a different purpose - and that’s to create new memories and bond with people I genuinely care about and want to be surrounded by instead of going out for the sake of it or cos im bored. You can spend that time working on yourself and growing. And that will stick with you forever. Also you save a shitload of money to use on more meaningful things 💁🏽♀️
Back when I was in India at my extended family’s village with all these cuties ✨ It saddens me that these bubbas were raised for meat and milk... and are probably no longer with us now. But for a moment I wanted to just be with them and pretend they were going to be around for a while. India still has a long way to go with animal rights due to their strong cultural roots and religious rituals. While these animals are alive, they are treated like children of the family, which made me not understand how they could merely raise them for meat and milk. In the villages, it’s hard for people to make money and they often look towards animal agriculture. But I’m seeing vast and rapid awareness in India, which is heartwarming and hopeful ❤️
rescued by @iowafarmsanctuary after losing his ears & part of his back leg to frost bite. despite all he’s been through, he’s the most loving & gentle goat.
humans don’t deserve other animals. I’m so sorry for what Ollie went through & I’m so thankful he’s safe now. support sanctuaries, not slaughterhouses.
This is another favourite of mine!!! I can’t believe how many yummy vegan ice creams are available now. This one doesn’t even taste like it’s non dairy- it’s so creamy and smooth and ugh, if you love caramel, coffee and chocolate all together, this will be you’re favourite thing ever 🤤 @benandjerrys
Just 10 minutes from Downtown LA lies a building where over 10,000 innocent individuals are violently killed every single day.
These pigs, who have the ability to feel pain and joy just like our dogs, travel for days on end to the slaughterhouse with no food, no water, and are left drenched in their own waste.
To further add to this cruelty, depending on the time of the year, these 6 month old babies travel through brutally cold winters and scorching hot summers, considering they’re viewed as nothing more than products to the industry.
How would our society react if we replaced pigs in slaughterhouse trucks with dogs? Would we feel differently?
If 10,000 dogs were violently killed every single day just 10 minutes from Downtown Los Angeles, would we continue this exploitation?
What do you think? Tell me below👇
