I did a naughty thing today. I was craving candy. Like candy proper. Halloween-type shit. And a less wise version of me would have avoided the craving legit like the plague and instead had 2 granola bars, an apple and 4 handfuls of nuts.... and 700 calories later gone for the candy bar anyway, because that’s what I truly wanted. Today, I skipped that shit. I bought myself the candy and I am proud honestly that I was in tune with myself enough to just do it. . . Why am I telling you this? Because I’m hearing that so many of you struggle with cravings and this was one of my BIGGEST mistakes during my weight loss. If I had an unhealthy craving I would go so hard avoiding it, but ultimately I couldn’t think about anything else until I satisfied myself with that specific craving. Sound familiar? . . My advice: Cut the 500+ calories you’re having before the Midnight Milky Way (that’s what I bought myself 😎). Satisfy your craving, appreciate each bite, and move the fack on with your day. Don’t let food on your mind distract you from slaying your day.

"If you knew better, you wouldn’t be in the position you are now." ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Those were the words that came out during one of my client phone calls today. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Not from me, but from my client. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I asked him what specific struggles he’s had since starting his program recently, and he admitted something that was eye opening. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The other day he found that towards the evening, he’d consumed about 70% of his Calories for the day, and he had the thought to stop eating. He wasn’t extremely hungry, and after all, if he ate UNDER the macros I set for him to lose fat, things would go even faster, right? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In other words, he assumed he knew better about what he should do to move himself closer to his goals. But he didn’t follow that intuition. He got home from work and finished off his macros. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I asked him why, he simply said “I told myself if I knew better, I’m sure I wouldn’t be in this position” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ His position? He weighs over 300 lbs, and although he is about a hundred pounds lower than is highest weight, he has struggled for years to get any lower. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ He didn’t know it, but I was celebrating in my head as I heard those words come out of his mouth. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That self awareness, transparency, and vulnerability to share his moment of doubt is what every coach wants from their clients. Without it, the coach-client relationship cannot evolve and reach it’s maximum potential. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is an issue I’ve run into many times over the years as a coach. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Either a client will admit they haven’t been following their protocol, or it’s right there for me to see in their spreadsheet, or I assume it’s happening based on the trends I’m seeing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s easy to feel angry about this as a coach, but I don’t blame people for doing it. In fact, it’s human nature. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s hard for many people to submit to what their coach or mentor instructs them to follow, even if it’s in their best interest. In other words, you want your sandwich and cake in the same sitting. ⠀ Who doesn’t? ⠀ You become FOCUSED on eating what’s equated in your head. From here, you forget what you actually desire. ⠀ Maybe, you don’t want the whole burger, because you want double fries instead. ⠀ Maybe, you order 1 slice of pizza, because that cookie is looking too good to pass up!⠀ ⠀ Once again, you are retraining yourself. ⠀ Learning how to trust your metabolism within its environment. Learning to choose foods you WANT, not “assigned” to eat. ⠀ You are in control of what you eat. Soaking🌞 up my last day in San Diego & last day of being a 21 year old🥂 There has been little to none “fitness” this trip but the one workout that I had to make happen was at at EōS fitness💪🏼 I’ve been wanting to visit this gym for years AND finally got to experience an outdoor gym— in love!!😍 . Excited to travel back home to celebrate my birthday, get back into a somewhat normal workout/eating routine (Miss my own food tbh lol🍎🥑🍌) & enjoy the rest of spring break with my family🤗

You can’t out train a bad diet. You can’t work miracles overnight. You can’t put on lbs or fat for years and expect it to fall off in a week. You can’t out train a bad diet.

Hump day supermans got us flying through the rest of the week (hopefully 😅) . Anyone else been a day or 2 ahead of themselves this week or just me 😅😴 . It’s been a long week already and I just can’t wait until my sleep in on Sunday! . Sometimes you just have those days (or weeks in my case) but you can’t let it stop you! What's for dinner?🤤 Instead of taco Tuesdays how bout some healthy chicken fajitas in the CROCKPOT! I'm always up to try something new, and thought I would share! 4 bell peppers sliced 1 onion chopped 5-8 cloves garlic smashed 4 chicken breasts cut in half 1 14 oz Can chili-style tomatoesdrained 2 teaspoons paprika 1 teaspoon chilli powder/pepper 1 teaspoon oregano 1 teaspoon cumin Salt and pepper 2 Tablespoons lime juice to taste Optional: 2 6-inch corn or 1 6-inch whole wheat flour tortillas as base 1 tsp honey to taste Directions: Cut up all veggies and place in bottom of crockpot. Add the halved chicken overtop and season with paprika, chilli powder, oregano, cumin, salt and pepper. Place the tomatoes on top and then secure the lid. Cook on high 2 hours, or low 4 hours. Remove lid and shred chicken with two forks. Stir in the lime juice and honey, to taste. 1 14 oz Can chili-style tomatoesdrained
2 teaspoons paprika
1 teaspoon chilli powder/pepper
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon cumin
Salt and pepper
2 Tablespoons lime juice to taste
Optional: 2 6-inch corn or 1 6-inch whole wheat flour tortillas as base
1 tsp honey to taste

Directions:
Cut up all veggies and place in bottom of crockpot.
Add the halved chicken overtop and season with paprika, chilli powder, oregano, cumin, salt and pepper.
Place the tomatoes on top and then secure the lid.
Cook on high 2 hours, or low 4 hours.
Remove lid and shred chicken with two forks.
Stir in the lime juice and honey, to taste.
Serve on tortillas or overtop of rice.

Today was hard. I struggled. A lot. I felt weak. Like a fraud. _ Mentally I was locked and loaded, ready to go. But physically, I felt nonexistent. My body was pushing HARD. But it just didn’t equate. I failed to execute lifts that are normally easy. _ I was critical of myself: “What the hell are you doing, just push!” It made it worse. I felt insecure—defeated. _ I’m telling you this because it’s important to remember that you are going to struggle. Doesn’t matter how talented, or how hard you work. It’s part of the process. _ At times I think I take my strength for granted. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve worked HARD to get to where I am today. I’ll never discredit that. But because this is now my norm, I sometimes unconsciously undervalue my work and what it truly takes to get here. The doubt. The failure. The grit. _ In this way, it is a humbling experience to struggle. It reminds me what a PRIVILEGE it is to be strong. Not only having financial, social, and cultural access to health, but being able to mentally & physically compete. Strength is EARNED, never given. _ Today sucked. But bad days build better days. Taking the opportunity to remember where I come from, where I am, and where I am going. Time to level up.

Sometimes you just wake up wanting your veggie fix! We’ll just say “the baby made me do it!”. I woke up with no interest in eggs or breakfasty foods... which just means that I’ll probably have eggs for lunch because I inevitably want eggs everyday at some point; so I threw together this bowl of perfection and ate next to my little guy while he scarfed down his berry medley and scrambled eggs. Breakfast doesn’t *have to* consist of typical ‘breakfast’ foods. The meaning of the word is simply ‘break the fast’. Loading up with veggies, protein - even DESSERT is ok! (Recent research actually suggests eating your desserts for breakfast so that you’re more likely to burn those calories by the end of the day!) +++++++++ BOWL dEats ++++++ • • • A bed of arugula + shredded red cabbage, leftover rosemary oven roasted chicken, sliced bella mushrooms & cilantro lime dressing (from @traderjoes of course). • • Hope y’all have a wonderful and THANK YOU to the boat load of you who reached of with sweet well wishes for our puppy who underwent surgery yesterday!! She’s back to her normal self despite hating her cone! ❤️❤️❤️. Love all of you!!
