When on a diet, allowing a "cheat day" is often seen as a motivational compromise, but I do not believe in cheat days! My reason for this is simple, when we feel the need to cheat, we are likely living a life of scarcity, where we deprive ourselves as a means of getting to our goals. To me, living this way is not sustainable. 🍬
I rather live a life of abundance and when I decide not to eat the doughnut, while everyone else indulges, I don't feel deprived because I fill my life with amazing healthy alternatives that fuel my body and my heart.

Sure you may have to spend a little more time in the kitchen, or find healthy alternatives you can keep around the house, but when we "survive" the week to arrive at the weekend to "cheat" we are wasting time in the present, building an unhealthy relationship with food and propagating the feeling of deprivation

What I recommend to clients is a mindset shift. Even if you do eat a little treat on the weekend, don't see it as a cheat. Eat lots of healthy things first and then have a small piece, feel satisfied and go about your day. 🍦
Healthy eating becomes a lot easier when you embrace it with every cell in your body, rather than fight it until your next cheat day!

We all need to hear this at some point or another...maybe even multiple times in our life. He see’s my disappointment in myself when I don’t reach a goal I would’ve liked to. But maybe that’s only because I’ve stopped to compare myself to others.

It reminded me that my story, my journey, is unique just like yours. My current position as a nurse is extremely demanding and unlike any other that I’ve ever had and overwhelming at times. The workload is unreal but I don’t want to give less than my best because giving my best is who I am. It takes so much out of me sometimes. .

I’ve often stopped to think about this path that God has put me through and I think I need to find meaning in this. As my favorite trainer says “Find peace in turmoil” @shaunt .

So if you find yourself in a rough patch in life I encourage you to stop and think about what it means.
