For my fellow foodies, here are some fun Japan favorites ๐Ÿ˜โ›ฉ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป as I’ve said before, no macros were tracked on this vacation - even if I had wanted to, it would’ve been impossible considering I didn’t know what I was eating a lot of the time ๐Ÿ˜† so here we go! . 1๏ธโƒฃ Taiyaki - basically a pancake sandwich with bean paste in the middle (I got a strawberry paste) 2๏ธโƒฃ SUSHI ๐Ÿ˜ so much sushi and it was amazing ๐Ÿฃ 3๏ธโƒฃ from Pokemon Cafe, I got Pikachu curry and a latte 4๏ธโƒฃ plus a fruit and custard dessert ๐Ÿฅ 5๏ธโƒฃ mochi shaped like an alien toy from Toy Story at DisneySea 6๏ธโƒฃ egg sandwich & pancakes - both kind of American but the bread components were super fluffy! ๐Ÿฅž 7๏ธโƒฃ teddy bear ice cream with a pancake, cream, drizzled in honey ๐Ÿป๐Ÿฏ 8๏ธโƒฃ okonomiyaki which is kind of like a pancake & omelette hybrid - made with flour, eggs, cabbage, and I got mine with seafood 9๏ธโƒฃ authentic ramen from Tokyo Station ๐Ÿœ ๐Ÿ”Ÿ ALL THE FUN KIT KATS! ๐Ÿคฏ this picture doesn’t even include the ones I found later like wasabi and green tea! . Day 79: Took one more day off to unpack and get my life back in order before heading back to reality. I got to have breakfast with my boys and take Hayden to school, then it was off to swim. Needed to get groceries after but still had an hour bike to get in today. I was debating a nap or bike and @amandalynne_fitt texted me while she was biking in Ohio, so Biking we did! Miles and miles apart, but motivation flows freely! Then it was off to the grocery store to fill my empty fridge with good nutrients and prepped food for fueling these workouts! #foodisfuel #eatallthefood #bikebuddies #swimgogglesface #imwi #imwi2019 #ironmantraining #ironman #triathlete #triathlon #backtothegrind #feelingrefreshed

Meals made easy! Tonight dinner: Instapot Fajita Chilli. Ingredients: * 1 lb ground chicken or turkey * 1 small onion peeled and diced * 1/4 cup chicken broth * 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed * 1 can low sodium diced tomatoes * 1 bag frozen Fiesta mix * 1/4 tsp ground cumin * 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper * 1/4 tsp ground pepper * salt and pepper, to taste * 1/2 sweet potato, diced Place onions and chicken broth into the instapot and saute for about 3 to 4 minutes. Cancel the saute setting and add all the spices. Let sit for 2 minutes before ground turkey, black beans, diced tomatoes, and sweet potatoes. Stir all ingredients together (frozen turkey will not stir well) . Set instapot to chili setting and add 5 additional minutes. Once pressurized and cooked let sit on low for 10 minutes. Release remaining pressure and remove the lid. Stir ingredients all together and serve. Makes 5 - 6 servings. Add avocado and cheese as desired. Raspberry Protein brownies · 2 cups pitted Medjool dates · 4 tbsp melted coconut oil · 4 tbsp maple syrup · 4 tbsp cacao nibs or powder · 1 cup almond flour · 1 cup chocolate protein powder · 3/4 cup vegan raspberry jam or preserves · 1 cup fresh raspberries · 3/4 cup dark chocolate Preheat oven to 350° Add dates, coconut oil, maple syrup, cacao, almond flour, and protein powder to the food processor. Process until smooth and well combined. Add the raspberry jam/preserves, reserving about 3 tablespoons. Process until combined. Press the batter evenly (using a hot or greased metal spoon) into a lined or well-greased baking dish. Top with the remaining jam and swirl into the batter. Bake for 30-40 minutes until a toothpick comes out mostly clean The center will still be a little bit gooey! Let cool. Top brownies with fresh raspberries and drizzle with melted dark chocolate. Let harden in fridge. Cut into squares and enjoy right away or store in the fridge for up to a week!

I was craving a burger..errhem was craving a big ole bun with a burger!! So tonight I made sure I had plenty of room to do just that. You can find slider buns at the store for only 80 calories and 1/2 the carbs of a regular sized bun...which is what I thought I grabbed. When i pulled them out I noticed they were ragular... so I adjusted. And loved every second of it!! #carbsafterdark #cheeseburger #fitnessphatty

One of the things I’ve tried to do is not follow any particular eating trend. I eat according to what my body needs, but as clean as possible. It may be plantbased for a while, low carbish, paleoish, etc etc ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. If I don’t feel like eating meat, I don’t (except I definitely do not eat Red meat- and haven’t in over 20+ years more because I don’t like it not because of ideology etc, I don’t eat pork, and never have.. no reason except I never acquired a taste for it.. I don’t.. in so doing I just never really acquired a taste for most meats except chicken and turkey. But I can eat seafood ( specific types) all day long, ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚) growing up in the Caribbean, Seafood is where it’s at!! All of that to say, we all must do what’s best for our bodies! Whether you eat according to a specific diet, ideology, religion, etc, the main thing is to eat healthy, take care of your body, and try our best each day to put healthy nutritious foods into our bodies. What works for one will not work for another, in fact what worked last week may not even work next week for me ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿพ‍โ™€๏ธ. Be open-minded, be appreciative of other people’s differences, and let’s be healthy together ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜˜ Yesterday I got in my c210k workout and today got in my steps and a power walk!! Crispy pancetta and Brussels sprouts? ๐Ÿคค My new favorite combo. I had to get dinner done quick because I have women’s bible study tonight so this was perfect. While pancetta is cooking add about a 1/3 cup chopped red onion to the pan. When it’s almost done add 3 chopped garlic and some red chili flakes. Take out of pan and add the quartered Brussels sprouts and cook until browned (5 minutes). Add pancetta back into the pan and mix. My @imperfectproduce box! I did it again: I started to customize and never finished. But I’m happy with what I got. Avocados, apples, oranges, carrots, potatoes, pears and asparagus. Any ideas on what to do with the asparagus? I like it but I’ve never cooked it, sadly. ... My hip is still bugging me. Yesterday was so terribly windy that I wouldn’t have been able to get in a run anyway(even though it was an amazing 69 degrees), even if it didn’t hurt. It’s the same today, super windy but a lovely 70 degrees. I’ve been trying to stretch out my hip and massage it, it feels better than it did once I was up walking around at work. I hope it calms down soon, I’ve been so determined to run and exercise right now so not being able to sucks! So cross your fingers and toes for me that it feels good and i can get a run into tomorrow! There are programs that require you to weigh yourself daily. Those programs work. I’ve seen people get amazing results with them. Those programs are not for me. . If you already have veggies washed & chopped it's easier to grab them for a quick meal. ๐Ÿ€Learn a recipe that has 5 or less steps so you can make dinner in 30 mins or less. ๐Ÿ€Before eating, drink a glass of water or cup of hot tea. Am I only the only one still annoyed that it’s still freezing outside?? Like spring wya? I don’t know so I’m gonna stay making bomb soups y’all. Made this ridiculously creamy and EASY Chicken Pot Pie soup the other night in my instant pot and need to share. Recipe: In the instant pot sauté pour in a few table spoons of olive oil and sauté some garlic. In a pot add 1.5 cups of cashews Sauté chopped celery, carrots in onion in the instant pot (I use an awesome premade mix from the Trader Joe’s fridge section). Throw in desired amount of veggies (I used a frozen mix of peas, carrots, and corn, but you can use whatever). Add in 2 chopped up large chicken breasts and 2 cups of chicken broth to the pot. Seal instant pot and cook the mix at high pressure for 10 minutes. For the sauce: boil 1.5 cups of cashews for 5-8 mins. Pour cashews in blender with one whole can of light or whole coconut milk. Blend until creamy. Add lemon or more garlic and salt of desired. Tried a drink from @themacrobarista a few weeks ago! This is the “low carb pink drink” It was definitely good, but I think I will 100% stick to the regular pink drink. This tastes more like berries than strawberries and it’s hardly sweet at all, but if you add a few stevias it is delicious!
