If you’re getting to the the gym 3 x a week for 1 hour at at time, that’s amazing and better than most. But if weight loss is the goal, don’t spend this valuable time focused on trying to burn calories. It’s still only 2.5% of your week (spent awake that is..and that’s assuming you get 8 hours of sleep a night, which is probably quite generous.) Wow! This stuff is like knock-your-socks-off, I-think-I’m-in-a-fancy-restaurant kind of good! ๐Ÿ˜‹ {Spaghetti Squash Shrimp Alfredo from @ketoislife ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป} It has been eleven days since I started on the Keto diet. I went through some withdrawals at the beginning with a headache and feelings of disconnect. (Different than Mommy Brain. ๐Ÿ˜‰) Then I experienced a few days of intense thirst, but I drank cup after cup of water with added electrolytes and minerals. A week in, I knew I was going to stick with this, so I went searching for some fun, store-bought Keto additions. I picked up some ketone strips while I was out and have been delighted to see that my body is now in full ketosis. Burning that fat away behind the scenes. That’s always a nice thought! ๐Ÿ˜† I have zero cravings and have not been as hungry. I did incorporate intermittent fasting from the start. I haven’t been counting macros, just estimating carbs, and I am not counting hours. Just eating three meals a day and nothing else. We go to bed late, so that makes meal times roughly 10, 2 and 6 for me, giving me a natural 14-16 hour fast which I’ve read is healthy for a female. The best part was unexpected for me. Clarity of mind and extra energy. ๐Ÿ’ƒ I feel amazing!! I was teaching my Sunday School lesson and thinking how smoothly it was going. I wasn’t skipping things and backtracking and correcting myself like I so often do. My brain was focused!! And then my routine Sunday afternoon nap... Completely relaxed but didn’t need the sleep apparently. When I weighed this morning, I was temporarily confused because I hadn’t seen that number in months. Lol So far so good! I’m happily on the Keto Train until my body lets me know it needs something different. P.S. I haven’t posted much on Keto even though I’ve been eating lots of yummy food because I tend to get caught up in things and I’m trying to stay balanced here. But I’m sure there will be more. What has me baffled is how society is ass backwards. Hard working Business Professionals, Single moms, pretty much everyone in this. To take care of your one and only body is such a hard task apparently and no one is responsible but yourself. Balance is something that is so invisible to our race these days. Pretty much all other species on this planet have achieved Balance but we as Human Beings ...the "technologically advanced" above all living species on this planet, we are causing our own suffering. I see vicious cycles happening daily and prevention for long term health issues are right out the window. But why? oh I get it...because the mentality is if something is wrong I'll go to my Doctor. I'll see my Doctor and he'll write me some scripts. Or he'll tell me to start exercising, or lower my carbs, or stop smoking....but I already know this. I know I have to DO WHATS RIGHT for me....Will I do anything about it? and the answer is....most likely not. Why is this? From what I gathered over the years of being in the Heath and Wellness Field, I learned the human is Terrified of change, that goes for Positive change. We are afraid of anything good happening because it screws up our daily routine. We fear the new because of the uncertainty it brings.... people would rather be unhappy than uncertain. We'd rather suffer because a switched up routine to better ourselves is a NONO! Time to Rediscover your life plan. You owe it to yourself, your children, your parents, your partner...etc. We have one shot at this, to finally feel good, to look good be Healthier than ever. But what you’ll get out of eating healthy vs eating crappy will be much more satisfying and worth the money you spend! ๐Ÿ’ฐ - Recently we’ve come into a tight spot with money, everyone goes through it, it’s pay day, you’re excited, then the money is gone?! It breaks my heart every time ๐Ÿ˜… I go from Gucci to nothing in .3 seconds after I pay all the bills! So how does one manage to still take care of themselves while rolling on such a tight budget? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍โ™€๏ธ - PLAN, plan your foods! Guys, we don’t preach this to be annoying, we preach this to help! Every Saturday or Sunday I look at the foods we already have, and what meals we can create with just a bit extra more such as chicken, rice, etc. ๐Ÿฅฆ - Cool SOMETHING. Even if you like you don’t know what Foods are necessarily “healthy” or not, start creating a habit of just cooking at home regularly, even if that’s just learn how to cook ground turkey! From their tour confidence can boost, making you feel better about tackling those “healthy” foods! ๐Ÿฅฆ - Whatever you buy, try and make your meals more “green faced!” I was reading an article on how to keep clients motivated on eating cleaner, and it really emphasized their weird term “green face” as a nuemonic. That means each meal should have some type of green within it! Each time you go shopping or reach in the fridge ask yourself “how can I make this green faced?” Lolol silly but the studies show it’s super effective! ๐Ÿ’— - Recipe: Greek chicken Kabobs Slice up chicken into little square like pieces Mix a bowl with 3 tbsp of Oregano 1 Tbsp of Garlic power or salt 1/4 cup of lemon 2 tbsp of olive oil 1/2 tsp of cumin powder 2 tbsp of parsley 1/2 tbsp of chili flakes Add salt and pepper for taste. If the the marinade seems too thick add more lemon juice. Mix the chicken into marinade, fridge for 30 minutes. The weather this week has been pretty amazing and much time has been spent diving from sunbed to class and back to sunbeds again !! Single leg work is important! Why?? Becauseeee balance and stability most importantly(we need these for LIFE), followed by a great way to isolate specific muscles. That’s why. It’s not just about looking fancy. What I love about performing single leg exercises is that I can very clearly feel the imbalances between my left and right sides and it helps me focus on what I can continue to work on. I began my workout with a nice dynamic warm up and heavy hip thrusts, and then followed it up with these. By the time I got to standing abductor raises, I was really feeling my glutes riding the struggle bus (as you can very clearly see by the look on my face ๐Ÿ˜‚). The key to all of these exercises is to stay square. Try not to let your hips shift away from the midline. Although we’re isolating movements, these exercises require full body connection. If you’re a beginner or are just finding yourself struggling to balance, simply focus the basic lunge movement first! 1๏ธโƒฃBulgarian Split Squats (I opted for no weight here since I moved straight into jumps for an extra burn!) 2๏ธโƒฃWeighted Split Squat (I choose a barbell to keep the resistance towards my center.) 3๏ธโƒฃStanding Hip Abduction (also a great way to work in this exercise when the machine is taken! Hold the plate in the middle of your thigh or lower. I find that while resistance is better lower, placing the plate at my knee isn’t sturdy enough. I feel a great burn with the placement I have here. You just don’t want the weight right in your hip/bum because there’s no real resistance there.)

๐ŸŒฎ “Beef” Quesadillas w/ Guac โฒ Under 20 mins | Serves 3-4 Haven’t made these quesadillas in a while but thought it was about time! ๐Ÿ˜‹ These never disappoint & are soo filling๐Ÿคฐ๐ŸฝWould you have EVER thought of putting cauliflower in quesadillasโ‰๏ธ Sounds absurd but tastes DELICIOUS ๐Ÿ˜ โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € All the Cheesy Deets๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿผ โ–ซ๏ธ2 Cassava & Chia Tortillas (@sietefoods) โ–ซ๏ธ1/2 cup Cauliflower Rice (@greengiant) โ–ซ๏ธ1/2 cup Black Beans โ–ซ๏ธ1/4 Onion โ–ซ๏ธ1 Jalapeño โ–ซ๏ธSweet Corn โ–ซ๏ธMexican Shredded Cheese (@kraft.naturalcheese) โ–ซ๏ธ1 tbsp Soy Sauce (@kikkomanusa) โ–ซ๏ธSpices - Cumin, Chili Powder, Smoked Paprika, Garlic Powder, Salt & Pepper โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € Start off by using a food processor to pulse the black beans. Be sure to not purée & just slightly “chop” them. Set aside. Next, add in the onion & jalapeño. Do the same and roughly chop them. Set aside as well. Cook the cauliflower rice according to the package instructions. In a pan, cook the beans, onions, jalapeños, & cauliflower in some ghee (@bulletproof). Add in all the spices plus the soy sauce. Go crazy if you like it hot ๐ŸŒถ (which I do). Mix it all together & after 2-3 mins, set aside. Lay a tortilla in the pan, add in Mexican cheese, then the “beef” filling, then corn, some more cheese, & then finally top with the second tortilla. Cook on both sides until crispy! In a small bowl, mash an avocado & mix in some lime juice & salt! For the salsa, I used the Organic Kale & Veg Salsa from @sprouts. ๐Ÿต Matcha Tea Macarons โฒ 20 min Prep Time | Yields ~10 Macarons So this was my second attempt at making macarons & I gotta say...definitely more successful than my first try ๐Ÿ˜… I still haven’t perfected the process but the taste is definitely there! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ Who knew making macarons could be so tough!? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Toasting to the weekend with these yummy Matcha Macarons ๐Ÿฅ‚ โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € Recipe๐Ÿ“ โ–ซ๏ธ1 Egg White, room temperature (@vitalfarms) โ–ซ๏ธ1/4 cup Granulated Cane Sugar โ–ซ๏ธ1/4 cup Almond Flour (@natureseats) โ–ซ๏ธ1/3 cup Powdered Sugar โ–ซ๏ธ2 tsp Unsweetened Matcha Powder (@ujidomatchatea) โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € Chocolate Filling: โ–ซ๏ธ1 cup Dark Chocolate Chunks (@wholefoods) โ–ซ๏ธ1 tbsp Coconut Oil (@vitacoco) โ–ซ๏ธ2 tsp Choice of Flour (I used Chocho Powder by @fivesunsfoods) โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ € In a mixing bowl, add in your egg whites. Use an electric mixer to whisk. Then slowly add in your cane sugar as you continue to whisk. It should create stiff peaks when you lift up the mixer (still working on perfecting this ๐Ÿ˜ฌ). Using a sifter, add in your flour, powdered sugar & matcha. Slowly sift out the mixture to ensure the flour has no chunks (this process took me a while). Then slowly fold in the flour into the egg mixture, making sure there are no lumps. Add the batter to a piping bag. Preheat oven to 300°. On a parchment-lined baking dish, pipe out dollop sized circles, leaving some distance in between (you may need two dishes). Let it sit for 30 mins to an hour. You’ll know it’s ready to bake once the tops are dry to the touch (mine took closer to an hour). Once the batter is dried, pop the baking dishes into the oven & bake for 15 mins. Meanwhile melt your chocolate in a bowl with the coconut oil in the microwave. Add in the flour to thicken it up. Then add the chocolate filling into another piping bag.
