317/365 “The miracle of children is that we just don’t know how they will change or who they will become.” Gracie is halfway to asking for her two front teeth for Christmas this year! Last month she lost her first wiggly tooth in a 3 Musketeers candy bar, and today a Butterfinger (her fav) dislodged her front tooth, altering her smile big time! Our little girl isn’t so little anymore—and it kind of breaks my heart, but I love watching her grow!
Tomorrow is the big day!! Our Holiday line will be available Wednesday at 6pm MST!
You see this beauty here? I get to spend tomorrow with her. Was it planned, nope. Did she come home with a fever, yep. Is she in high spirits, you betcha! Even though the world around us is speeding by, I felt this week I just needed to be with her more! Guess what, it’s not the happiest of circumstances, but I am excited for this little blessing in disguise! Here is to hoping it’s just teething and a new molar coming in and not another cold! Seriously mammas, tell me how many of you actually want the answer to be teething...ever? 🙈🙊
What are you thankful for?
This came home in my daughter’s backpack today. I read it over real quick and my first thought was...where is ME?
It’s a known fact Coralyn is a daddy’s girl. When you have a husband who travels as much as mine, the times that he is actually home, are spent with Coralyn “up his butt.”
What can I say, she misses him a ton.
So it really wasn’t a surprise to me that I “didn’t make the cut”🤷🏼♀️
Then I looked closer...
And YES!!! I saw “mom” (erased initially) and written very small amidst a couple of other words.
I asked her why “mom” was written so small ?
“I realized that I was thankful for more things and I ran out of room, so I erased the big mom and replaced it with three other words...and mom...duh.” <— yes, she said “duh”🤦🏼♀️
I re-read these words and my heart melted.
God, house, and learning.
What more could a mom ask for?
While we are not raising her with a religion, as I was never raised with one, she hears her friends talk about God. If it is important to her, than it is important we respect that.
This “erased mom” doesn’t mind being written smaller and added to things that’s she feels thankful for.
Miss Coralyn...I am thankful EVERY DAY for you❤️
Here is what she wrote in case anybody has a hard time reading it. And I actually feel it’s important I include it typed in this post, because let it be a lesson to all of us to be present in our kids lives and know that there is always a reason why they do certain things❤️
“I am thankful for all my teachers, my cousins, Dad, Earth, Family, Food, Friends, God, House, learning, mom, my school, pilgrims, pet, parents, president.”
