Those tiny feet on top of the island in my kitchen. When we moved into this house, she couldn’t even reach the top of it. She loves to sit and talk to me while I cook or do the dishes, and do her part in making lunch or dinner (which mostly means sneaking a taste when I’m not looking😉). Our homes give us that warm, comfortable feeling because of all the happy that took place there, between the four walls, no matter their color or condition. Something simple like a kitchen island can tug at our heartstrings and cause memories to come flooding back of days when little feet climbed on top of them—something she will outgrow before I am ready. ❤️✨
Today is all about present wrapping, Christmas music and hot chocolate. This morning Harry asked me when I was going to start letting them eat Christmas food, I guess now is as good a time as any!! 😜🎄

It’s concert day! I’m so looking forward to seeing our little Aboriginal in action.
It’s funny, when they first mentioned a concert in school he was insisting he didn’t want to do it. This morning he was bouncing around when he realised what day it was. I’m so pleased he came round ... he’s been practising hard, knows everyone’s lines, and has been humming a Christmas tune all week 💕
Just a bit of work to get through this morning and then it’s showtime 🎉
All you need for Christmas is a midi skirt... 🙌 I like a midi skirt. And who can blame me? There’s so much to love about them. Why? Well, they’re cute and pretty. Especially with a sparkly Christmas jumper tucked in. And, crucially, they usually have an elasticated waistband. That’s all my festive boxes ticked. See how I like to dress mine up and down in my latest blog post 👍
What Christmas traditions do you have with your children?
We have a few that are starting to take shape, so over the rest of this month as and when I can remember what they are, I’ll let you into our family traditions.
The first one is something I’ve started this year as it’s the first year the concept of writing to Father Christmas has really started.
Rather than list toys that they expect to receive from Father Christmas they have to write what good they’ve done throughout the year.
I like the idea that it’ll make them reflect over the past year to think of the ways that they showed kindness or the moments where they felt proud of their achievements. And perhaps it’ll keep them in check throughout the year as ‘something to write to Father Christmas about.’ It’s a letter to help Father Christmas put them on the good list 😜
It also means whatever they receive from him is a surprise that they’ll never know about until the day.
I like the idea of that. Presents being a gift not an expectation.
Heading to the Northern Hemisphere for a White Christmas? Make sure you've got a pair of these Plae waterproof boots and shoes that can withstand the snow and slush so your little ones feet can stay toasty warm. .
Don't forget that Friday 14th December is the last day to order at Little Treads to receive your parcel before Christmas! Any orders placed after this date cannot be guaranteed to reach you before Santa comes down the chimney!
