#NationalAdoptionDay, which is observed annually the Saturday before Thanksgiving and is focused on raising awareness for the many children in foster care waiting to be adopted. The National Adoption Day sponsors co-operate with states foster care agencies, child advocates, law firms, and courts to complete the adoptions of children in foster care. Since the inception of National Adoption Day, more than 54,000 children were moved from foster care to forever families. In 2014, more than 400 cities across the United States, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico held events to finalize the adoptions and celebrate the families who adopt. In the United States, there are more than 100,000 children in foster care. As we honor National Adoption Day today, my heart goes out to the many children awaiting permanent homes. May we look out for each other and in particular let’s commit to support, advocate and create stability for our more vulnerable populations.
Is anyone else suffering from Bake Off withdrawals? To celebrate my senses of taste and smell coming back I made Peanut butter and chocolate cupcakes. Fully expecting Noel and Sandi to walk through the door any moment now. #littlethings#gbbo#sunday#baking
I’m in love with these hand-me down sheets from Grandma’s. They remind me of happy naps and sleepovers at her house. Despite the age I am sure they are they still look like new. I love the colors and patterns. Isn’t it funny how little things can mean so much? #littlethings#specialmoments#catnaps
