Learning to surrender to what life is unfolding before us is legit warrior training..whew! Choosing to walk the path of growth requires so much courage, willingness and dedication to want to keep showing up for it. We know we have the capacity to learn our greatest lessons through our deepest challenges, but those experiences can be just so....challenging! ⠀
It seems like the more I talk about learning to surrender, the more the universe offers me lots of opportunities to lean into the place within me that wants to kick and scream and argue, when reality is not unfolding the way I'd like it to. ⠀
My incredibly long and grueling trip to New York these past couple of days was more of this intense ground training for surrendering. ⠀
Due to the freak storm that broke out in NY, after traveling for 2 days, I was waiting for the last flight of my trip, and after hours of delay, they finally canceled it. I booked another flight, and many hours later, that was canceled too. I slept on the cold hard airport floor instead of a warm bed I already paid for, and then was forced to take a flight to Boston instead of NY, rent a car and drive an extra 4 hours to be late for this neuroscience training that I've already paid for...$1000 extra dollar later...I kept meeting my edge of surrender moment after moment. ⠀
Every time I thought it couldn't possibly get any worse, it did. When I argued with what is, I suffered badly. The training is to try to learn to let go in-between the incessant mental chatter that wants to fight what's happening. ⠀
I was pushed so far beyond my edge, I finally broke down in sobbing tears on the floor of the airport. In this moment, I was able to surrender and let it go. ⠀
When things fall apart, we want to fight it. Trust me, I get it. But so much suffering happens in this exact place. ⠀
The path to surrendering is a humble and worthwhile journey. ⠀
The funny thing is that I'm reading "The Surrender Experiment" and Michael Singer talks about starting with surrendering to the weather. I even laughed, and thought...yeah I got this, but apparently I really didn't, so here I am, still showing up for the lessons. ⠀

Every Sunday I spend a couple of hours creating and scheduling posts for my Facebook page.
Last Sunday things wouldn't post. I tried a few different times and nothing worked.
Still not working Monday either.
I could have freaked out but I decided this was a gift.
The universe freed me from the responsibility of creating Facebook posts this week, and it was nice!
