FAT LOSS VS MUSCLE GAIN By @JMAXFITNESS . The ONLY difference between losing and gaining weight is the amount of calories you eat. Want to lose fat? Eat less calories than your body burns in a day (calorie deficit). Want to build muscle? Eat enough food to support muscle growth (calorie surplus). Just don’t overeat (keep it to a 10-15% surplus maximum), as this may lead to too much fat gain, which is what we don’t want. . In both cases, you should aim to eat a high amount of protein, roughly .82g-1g per lb of bodyweight if looking to build muscle and slightly more if trying to lose fat (.9-1.1g per lb). As well as this, your approach to training shouldn’t differ that much. When you want to build muscle, your goal should be to get stronger. The ONLY difference between losing and gaining weight is the amount of calories you eat. Want to lose fat? Eat less calories than your body burns in a day (calorie deficit). Want to build muscle? Squats on smith machine. As journey of my growth continues, I didn’t feel very strong but I was cautious about my ability to be able to lift heavy, I took this opportunity to show you how I do my “BLOOD FLOW RESTRICTIONS” set, promote a bigger pump with lighter weight. Especially when you’re not feeling 100% about your strength. I was able to get the maximum out of my session. Mixed this workout with leg extensions and aimed for the equal amount of reps for each. I slacked on my food today (work/life) but I’m not going to let that get into the way of my vision. I see myself hitting goals for summer2019, I know I’ve said that before and was not able to get 100% on my knee injury. When I look back on myself years ago when I first started training there are a few things I realised I did differently which helped me transform my body and hopefully they help you today. ㅤ I wasn’t a whiner: I’ve noticed whiners never win. They complain and blame all day long. They come from a place of scarcity and not abundance and hence they don’t attract great things into their lives. I never in my 6+ years of training whined about anything. I just did the work. ㅤ I did whatever it took: I wasn’t all talk. I didn’t talk about it and if I did I backed it up with work. A lot of guys come to me and they’re all talk. They say they really want it but they don’t. If you asked where I was at midnight on a Saturday night I’d be in the gym training my ass off to escape my skinny genetics. ㅤ I was hungry: Most people ask me how I have motivation to train 7 years and still have fire to go on. How don’t you have motivation? I hated being skinny. It really fucking hurt being weak and having people around push me around. The brokenness of being underestimated and overlooked as a skinny guy hurt so much it fueled me. How could I not change when I was crying my eyes out every night? I made a promise to never go back to where I was. The rest was history. ㅤ The truth is... ㅤ You have 2 choices. ㅤ 1: Complain, blame and stay the same 2.
