I’m not generally boss but I’m telling ya this: you want to make this chicken!!! It’s finger lickin’ bone lickin’ good. Have dreams about it so damn good. The skin comes out perfect crispy each and every time and the meat tender and juicy. Yum and yum and yum!
It’s one of the dishes that inspired my blog cause when I first posted a pic of this dish last year soooooo many of ya asked for the recipe! I was just waiting for pomegranates to be in season and have now delivered. So get at it and please share your thoughts as I’d absolutely love to hear! 😘

I’m #Chef Daniela and my all time favorite activities are all things #food, surf and #travel. I’m a #Mexican#Jew, grew up mostly in #Cali with stints in #MexicoCity too, have lived all over the world, mostly recently in Israel for 6 years, and now split my time between #SanFrancisco, #SantaCruz, and #Kauai (on island is where I originally started working as a Chef!). And...I’m now planning on moving again soon (more on that later!).
I’m also very bionic and live life with 7 vertebrates down and a whole lot of hard ware later...something I continue to struggle with every day... 🙈

All the cauliflower colors. Well not all but we have purple (my favorite!), yellow and white. Only color missing, that I’ve seen, is green... unless you’ve seen some other colors I don’t know about... and if so please do tell :). 💛💚💜

That time I had no clue what to make for dinner so I picked up the very best looking veggies I could find, threw them on a roasted tray with olive oil, salt and pepper and called it dinner. Throwing veggies in the oven and calling it a day when I’m not sure what to cook up seems to be my go to... what’s your I-dunno-what-to-make-for-dinner solution?

It’s a Cauliflower, Celery Root & Fennel Soup topped here with radishes, bee pollen, basil and flaky sea salt. Can of course be made with non purple cauliflower too! And I wanna see whatcha too yours with!

That very first time I made @thedelicious Salmon Cobb Salad Board and became absolutely positively obsessed with the idea of a salmon salad board. It’s a salmon salad on a plate thinks me! Stay tuned for a very me version coming soon (hint hint... there’s lots of pink and purple’s... :)). 💗💜
Here we have red, orange and yellow cherry tomatoes, peppadew peppers, bacon , sliced lemon, avocado, sheep’s milk feta, roasted shiitake’s, ninja radishes, garlic, seven-minute eggs, blood orange and orange slices, parsley, dill, chives and of course the queen of this show: wild salmon. Served with frisée lettuce. YUM!

Please excuse me while I perfect my ice cream shooting skills. This recipe was just too damn good to not share while I do so. Thanks to all that shared oh-so valuable ice cream words of wisdom!!! The word behind the camera is that ya gotta pre-scoop the ice cream and freeze the individual scoops the night before. I’m gonna be all over that for my next ice cram shot! In the meantime, I def suggest ya make this recipe and I’ll get to work on improving my ice cream shooting skills

Did ya know that I’ve been to 3 grocery stores already today... and it’s not even noon?!?! I don’t *really* wanna talk about it... but I kinda do. You see, there’s only 1 place in SF I can currently get my purple cauliflower at so there was that stop, I’m making a few fish dishes today so there was my fish guy, and the all the rest stop... and then I forgot something so I’m walking back now... 🤦🏽♀️
I’m def not a 1 stop shop kinda gal... and I’m def the gal that calls the grocery ahead of time to ask just which purple veggies they have in... yep... it’s true! I’m fully embracing my purple-itis these days and the other day at the grocery store I left my cart unattended for a min and one of the employees (I’ve gotten to know most the peeps that work at my go to shops) said he just knew I was shopping in the store before he even saw me when he spotted my very colorful, very purple, shopping cart... 💜💜💜🤷🏽♀️

All the rainbow produce I saw at the farmers market that makes me feel comfy holding on to summer just a teeny tiny bit longer. There’re *almost* purple, red and yellow cherry tomatoes, green cutie cucamelons, and green & purple figs. Sure looks like a very summery fall filled basket to me! 🌈💜🌱

Just landed back in Cali. As in the still sitting in my seat literally just landed. And the very first thing I’m gonna do is eat salad. And the very 2nd thing I’m gonna do is eat veggies. And the very 3rd thing I’m gonna do is eat more salad and veggies. And once I’m well nourished, the very 4th thing I’m gonna do is cook, style, and shoot a recipe for the blog. YAYA!
My green leaves and veggie withdrawal is real!!! I’ve grown quite accustomed to eating some greens, generally raw, with pretty much every meal. And it’s how I like it. I love traveling and adventuring and exploring new places and cultures and meeting new people and believe you me I’ll never stop doing that! But now that I’m back bring on all the greens and veggies I say!!!
Oh and this is a chicory-apple salad with brown butter dressing. I said bring on the greens and veggies, not hold the butter, right? And by greens I obviously mean purples. 😂💜🌱

Rainbow Roasted Veggie & Tofu Sheet Pan Dinner. Post-Oven. There’s purple sweet potatoes, purple & non-purple potatoes, radishes, beets, purple Brussels sprouts and asparagus all mixed together with lemony shallot vinaigrette. Because I like easy, healthy, nutritious, colorful and very yummy food. 🌈
And let me share a bit of the story behind the tofu on that plate. About 1.5 years ago, I met the @hodofoods folks while touring @froghollowfarm and it was the very beginning of what’s become a beautiful relationship, both professionally and unprofessionally. They’ve introduced me to the whole wide world of tofu and yuba-liciousness. Check this out: 90% of soybeans in this country are GMO, of the 10% they aren’t only half of that is organic. @hodofoods sources exclusively organic, non gmo soybeans (which is really hard to do!) and is the only maker of fresh yuba (they have 4 kinds!) in the country. Last week I had the pleasure and privilege of touring their factory, from dry beans to soy milk, and on to tofu and yuba, in Oakland. They’ve hired me to be their Chef for an influencer dinner for them tomorrow and I’m super stoked to be aligning with and supporting this rad, clean, organic, non-GMO, artisanal tofu maker!

Summer Tomato & Fig bounty. It’s officially the very last day of summer and fall starts tomorrow...but I’m gonna hold on just a teeny tiny bit longer. Saw rhubarb at the market yesterday (wasn’t local but from Washington) and having rhubarb around means I can still be in summer season if I wanna think me. And it’s finally actually feeling like summer here in SF!
Launched my blog yesterday (link in profile) and reminiscing all I’ve learned this past year. Took this pic here exactly 1 year ago!!! Was back in the day before I had invested in food photography back drops and was using these tiles I picked up at a scrap yard (it’s easy to begin your food photography journey on a budget!). Have come a long way in a year and am trying to not get intimidated by how much there’s still go and to learn! Head is buzzing with all the new skills I want! Stoked to get my @pinterest (any tips?!?!) and video game on!!!

Cherry Tomato Confit in the making. That’s cherry tomatoes, green and of course purple basil, oregano, lots of garlic, chili flakes, salt and pepper. Will pour lots of olive oil over and it and put it into the oven at 300 degrees for an hour. Cause they come out very, very, very delicious. Like sweet cherry tomato treats! And I’m making it my personal mission to inspire all of you lovely folks to get your cherry tomato confit game on too! 🍅💗✌🏽
