Our spine is for more than sitting around in chairs. So on days I do more admin work I try to take some movement breaks from time to time. ✨The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. (Lao Tsu)✨⠀ ⠀ I’m the Grey rebel at the YogaKollektiv.⠀ ⠀ I’ve been doing yoga longer than pretty much anything else in my life. I took my first class in the late 80’s in London, and it has been my steady and loyal companion ever since - during motherhood, university and professional career. As an executive, yoga provides much needed perspective, balance and space to think critically and out of the box. Even after so many years of yoga practice, my passion and curiosity were deepened with a first 200-hour Vinyasa Training, followed by a 500-hour Integrative Yoga Teacher Training. I’ve been lucky that I’ve always had inspiring teachers and my hope now is to inspire others with my teaching.⠀ ⠀ I teach dynamic Vinyasa flow, classical Hatha Yoga and am available for early birds or one-to-one. My classes are open to all levels with a focus on mindfulness, breath and adjustments to make yoga accessible to people of all ages and abilities. Other essential elements to my teaching are humour, good tunes and the power of silence.⠀ ⠀ I strongly believe that yoga is beneficial to everyone. I’ve been doing yoga longer than pretty much anything else in my life. Balance act of life... Today‘s pose is quite symbolic for that. It‘s some days really difficult, takes focus and energy and maybe still leaves you with a burning sensation (👉🏻 back thigh). Nevertheless we try to stay tall. - Strengthens and lengthens your obliques
- Strengthens and lengthens your back
- Strengthens your shoulders and arms
- Can be done anywhere .
ℹ️
▪️Take a wide stand, both legs externally rotated so your feet are facing the outside. ▪️Bend your knees in a 90degree angle (less for a regression) and keep pushing them back, so you‘ve a nice stretch on your inner thighs.
▪️Raise your arms, but keep the shoulders low.
▪️Inhale: activate your pelvic floor, lengthen your spine.
▪️Exhale: extend your right side body over your right leg.
