My practice today felt really good 🤗, I haven’t practiced these last few days, so it was more powerful than usual. And I decided to show you how it ended ☺️ Almog and the girls brought me flowers.... just like that, no special reason. I think we should all stop every once in a while and be grateful for what we have, never take things for granted, and if possible to say it the person next to us, who ever that is, and simply spread those vibes. My lovely student Esme in yesterday’s morning yoga class, demonstrating Halasana and Paschimottanasana. As Esme used to be a dancer her body is already flexible enough to get into many yoga postures and pretty perfectly so! Halasana or the Plough, has many benefits; elongating the entire back fascia, lengthening the leg muscles as well as giving the thyroid and parathyroid glands a pep so it can increase and wake up a sluggish metabolism. Twin granddaughters. A crash of sirens speeding their mum to hospital. Born early, stopped moving, not ready for this world. Two sets of nurses on standby to perform CPR. One twin still wrapped in her caul. The tearing heart terror of the first month. Then the months upon months of doctor visits, checkups, heart meds, eye patches. On and on. Where is the sunrise. They all came thru. Their mum. Their dad. The girls. A hard lesson in life and love. The girls are now two years old. They live 800 kms away from us. Većina ljudi obrati pažnju na svoja stopala tek kad počnu da bole. Da li stopala zaslužuju više pažnje, i koliko su ona važan deo ljudskog tela? Na stopalima se nalazi preko 7000 nervnih završetaka koji su povezani sa različitim organima u celom telu. Po kvadratnom cm na stopalu ima više nervnih završetaka nego na bilo kom drugom delu tela. Ova činjenica stopala čini izuzetno senzitivnim, ona nam stalno šalju podatke, a mi toga nismo ni svesni. Stopala su nosilac čitavog tela, a tokom dana prenesu oko 100 t težine, što odgovara jednom kamionu punom cementa! Iako su relativno mala, u stopalima se nalazi 26 kostiju (što je 25% svih naših kostiju), 33 zgloba, više od 100 ligamenata i 19 mišića. Takođe sadrže oko 250000 znojnih žlezda, i prosečno mogu da proizvedu oko 2 dl znoja. Većinu dana stopala su "zatvorena" u neudobnoj obući i neadekvatnim čarapama, čime se narušava vlažnost, onemogućava normalna cirkulacija i disanje kože, što doprinosi razvoju mnogih problema. Zato, obratite više pažnje na svoja stopala, nosite pamučne čarape i udobnu obuću, a kad god ste u prilici hodajte bosi. Hodajte bosi i u prirodi, jer to doprinosi efektnoj i prijatnoj masaži i razgibavanju svakog mišića na stopalima. The second part of my #tutorialsbybridget series is this cool variation of dancer pose. In the little video I show you how to get into the pose. ( I’m doubling as Dancer pose is our daily asana for our yoga challenge too!) I really love this variation, and this is an other one, that it looks harder then what it is. I have to say that I did an hour mellow stretching practice before I tried this pose! I always like to get my regular practice done, then try more difficult asanas, or new variations, such as this one. BEFORE : Make sure to warm up: -shoulders -hamstrings -hips -quads -and mostly your BACK ! And practice a couple of ROYAL DANCERS ( with a strap or/and without) before entering to this variation EXTRA TIPS: -find a focus point to help your balance -firm the muscles of the standing leg -keep your foot grounded -lift your kneecap to engage quadriceps -put on a sock or use a strap or if you have , your @yogapaws to help you keep the grab of your foot -use your hands on your knee and foot to keep you stable -move the energy backwards -slowly start to open up your upper body to the side and BALANCE ☺️ . Heute möchte ich über ein Thema schreiben, das mir schon seit vielen Jahren sehr am Herzen liegt und eine wichtige Rolle in meiner täglichen Arbeit als Yogalehrerin und Thai Yoga Masseurin einnimmt. Wie es der Titel bereits verrät, geht es in diesem Blog-Beitrag um das Thema Füsse. Wann hast du dich das letzte Mal um deine Füsse gekümmert? Weisst du, wie es im Moment gerade um deine Füsse bestellt ist? Falls es deine Umstände erlauben, lade ich dich ein, die Socken auszuziehen und deine Füsse (wieder) einmal etwas genauer unter die Lupe zu nehmen: 1. Wie geht es deinen Zehennägeln? Wachsen sie schön, sind sie evtl. von einem Pilz befallen oder existieren sie nur noch halb, weil sie dir nach dem letzten Trail Run abgefallen sind? 2. Wie geht es deinen Zehengelenken? Sind sie beweglich, versteift oder entzündlich geschwollen? Wie gut kannst du deine Zehen spreizen? Und kannst du deine Finger von oben und von unten in die Zwischenräume zwischen den einzelnen Zehen einfädeln ohne dass es schmerzt? 3. Wie geht es deiner Fussmuskulatur, dem Längs- und dem Quergewölbe der Füsse? Verteilst du das Gewicht beim Stehen oder Gehen auf den ganzen Fuss oder belastest du deine Füsse einseitig, so dass bereits ein Hallux oder Fersensporn entstanden ist? 4. Wie sieht die Haut an deinen Füssen aus? Ist sie geschmeidig und glatt oder trocken und rissig? Gibt es Stellen, an denen sich immer wieder Hornhaut bildet? 5. Wie geht es deinen Fussgelenken? Sind sie beweglich oder durch das zu häufige Tragen ungeeigneter Schuhe ungünstig versteift? Knackt es in den Fussgelenken, wenn du die Füsse kreisen lässt? Wie gut kannst du deine Füsse flexen oder pointen? 1.  Wie geht es deinen Zehennägeln? Wachsen sie schön, sind sie evtl. von einem Pilz befallen oder existieren sie nur noch halb, weil sie dir nach dem letzten Trail Run abgefallen sind?

2.  Wie geht es deinen Zehengelenken? Sind sie beweglich, versteift oder entzündlich geschwollen? Wie gut kannst du deine Zehen spreizen? Und kannst du deine Finger von oben und von unten in die Zwischenräume zwischen den einzelnen Zehen einfädeln ohne dass es schmerzt?

3.  Wie geht es deiner Fussmuskulatur, dem Längs- und dem Quergewölbe der Füsse? Verteilst du das Gewicht beim Stehen oder Gehen auf den ganzen Fuss oder belastest du deine Füsse einseitig, so dass bereits ein Hallux oder Fersensporn entstanden ist? 
4.  Wie sieht die Haut an deinen Füssen aus? Ist sie geschmeidig und glatt oder trocken und rissig? Gibt es Stellen, an denen sich immer wieder Hornhaut bildet?
