Fall In Love Here Tonight. On the eve of my 2nd’s albums 5th birthday, I sing for you one of the first songs that I wrote for that album. God, I love this song. I always have and always will. I wrote this one November day when I got money stolen from me at the Hollywood metro station. I was 17 years old and let’s face it a little innocence was left in me. I remember calling my mom crying, saying I am not cut out for this. My mom being the supportive savage she is, told me to “get my ass outta there and go find myself. Don’t let this discourage me, go and do what you are meant to do. Tears are fine but they won’t help you rise up.” So, I left hollywood and went for an hour stroll around City Walk. I wanted to take a picture with the minion but he looked at me like I was a lost puppy, lol. I was. After clearing my head I headed to west hollywood. This is where that song was born. I sat at this dog park and they were having a doggy/ parent yoga day. SO LA, lol. I saw a gay couple, out proud and happy… engaged too. I saw them with their straight friends and it stood out to me. I’m a hopeless romantic, I love romance. I love the idea of falling deep in love and creating so much beauty from that love. I wanna get married, have that family AND my career. I believe it is all possible. Seeing the couple, I pictured the whole world with that kinda pure love. I created a version of what I hope their story might have been like… well a fantasy version of it. I loved writing this song. It took me 25 mins and I had it. It will forever be a writing session that i’ll never forget. 12am on my apartment floor, quietly singing this to myself. I’m so blessed this is on my 2nd album and really hope I can create an acoustic version of it one day. The musicians that played on this track, thank you to you for giving me the strings and electricity that I wanted. I hope one day the love that I have can mirror and expand upon the love that I wrote about in this song. And to you…I hope one day I can finally show you around, my home, LA, and how these songs were born there. How I wanna eventually settle down there. and right there i’ll make you mine, fall in love here tonight....
