If your first steps in the morning cause a stabbing pain in your heel, you may have plantar fasciitis. This inflammation of the plantar fascia -- the tissue that connects your heel to your toes -- is very common, especially for athletes.
With the right treatment, this condition usually goes away in several months. Some exercises to try to treat plantar fasciitis include: Towel scrunches, Inversion/eversion, dorsiflexion and plantar flexion, and calf stretch.
Towel scrunches- Place a small towel on the floor. Using involved foot, curl towel toward you, using only your toes, relax. Repeat 10 times 1-2 times per day
