I know I am SUPER late but this being my first Mother's day I had to post this for lil Am. Please pardon me.
It was my very first Mother's Day. Actually, it was our first Mother's Day. I wouldn't have had this day to reflect and celebrate if not for you, for its you who made me a mom or your Amma.
Almost 6 months deep into motherhood, I can't help but keep going back to the day you came into this world, the moment we first met. Although, I was in labour for almost 3 days, I had you all to myself within 3 hours of the delivery. The first time I held you all by myself, the first time I nursed you, and the first time I kissed you. That night, those 4 hours of just you and me in the recovery room, so small, so delicate, so soft, so new to everything around you, snugly sleeping in my arms, will remain my most cherished time with you. Lying there, holding you close to me, feeling you breath and listening to your heart beath, I forgot all about my exhaustion from the long labour or the extreme pain that I underwent.
We both came to our room, to your Acha and all the others by morning and you were welcomed with so much warmth and love.
The list is endless, but here is a compilation of pictures for you to remember this love from all your mom souls during your first few months.
I’ve had quite a few people ask me recently, why 7? Questions and curiosity are a great thing! Ask away! Its really quite simple - let me break it down. .
We are designing premium baby items that will be enjoyed 7 days of the week. We didn’t want to create products that just sit on the shelf untouched, forgotten & gathering dust. Our aim is to bring you premium baby items that become an essential part of day-to-day life. Items that will be used and loved 7 days a week - hence the name #7EssentialSomethings. The “Somethings” may even evolve as we grow and learn even more about you too!
As for the other number, the launch date number. Although I can’t wait to throw a party, let me say, I’ve learnt a lot recently 😅. And one major point is that in this type of business (unlike my design studio) you really are at the mercy of your manufacturers!
We’ve had a couple of bumps in the road from lost stock in transit to us, incorrect materials & colour applications leading to production re-do’s, suppliers veering of approved samples etc. There’s a lot to control in this business and a certain amount of control you also need to relinquish...
I don’t like to use the word perfectionist but I won’t let things get passed me unless it’s perfect 😂. We only want to pass on the best to you and we really do take great pride in our offerings! Luckily, I thrive under stress and pressure and actually find comfort here (if you’ve worked with me before in Singapore over the last 7 years, you will be able to attest to this) I can only imagine what I’m like to live with 😃 (Good luck husband!)
Above all, my message is; We will always be transparent with you. Thank you for coming along on this journey with us 💋 .
Enjoy the rest of your long weekend Singapore!
Some random feeling of overwhelm creeped up tonight and I’m feeling proud of myself for not letting it get the best of me. Instead, I decided to take my girl for a walk to the park after dinner and I think we both returned home feeling lighter. 🤗🍂I’ve been really focusing on my self care lately, even when it feels difficult or sometimes even selfish. #WrenTrillium#selfcare#motherhood#wheredmytinybabygo
5 EASY ways to shake a RUT
Do you feel stuck in the same-old, same-old?
Being stuck in a rut is often a sign of stagnation and the need to GROW 🌱
And in order to grow we often have to step out of our comfort zones...
Which is hard...
Which is why we don’t do it...
Which is why we get stuck in a rut 🤪
Simple ways to shake things up:
1️⃣ Get a FRESH new hair cut. I’ve never understood why people get so attached to their hair. I mean, it’s hair. It will generally (if not, always) grow back. LIVE A LITTLE!! Chop it ✂️💁🏼♀️
2️⃣ Feeling moody? Shake your booty. Start a new exercise class.
Try something different, like a dance class💃💃 or outdoors group training (I love @bodyright_fitness 💪🏽)
3️⃣ Try waking up earlier than your kids. I know, this can be hard. But just try to do it one day and spend the time simply drinking your morning coffee in peace, meditating or enjoying the calm serenity of a sleeping household 💤
4️⃣ Declutter your shit. You know all those clothes you NEVER wear (but have been hoping you might for the last 6 years)?
Sell them on eBay for a bit of cash- or give them to a friend.
Better still, donate them- the @wirfwa op-shop is always looking for womens clothing, for example 👗
5️⃣ Go our for breakfast. There’s a cafe near my house ( @thelocalshack) that does FREE kids breaky with any adult breaky purchased. BARGAIN!
Plus they have stuff to keep the gremlins entertained if the food isn’t enough (but it usually is)
Find a place local to you that you’ve wanted to try out and try something different with the kids one morning 🎉
The hardest part of doing something new, is just DOING 👊🏽
Don’t overthink things, just give it a go.
If you’re grappling with a stubborn rut, take this post as a sign to CHANGE IT UP sista 🥳💁🏼♀️
