Hiciste tu tarea?

Muchas personas recurren a un entrenador como una herramienta para adelgazar, mejorar su condición física, corregir su postura, rehabilitarse etc. Para esto el tiempo que compartimos a la semana para trabajar en esos objetivos puedes ser 2 a 3 horas.

Podemos corregir una postura dedicando 1-2 horas a la semana?
Podemos cambiar la apariencia física dedicando 2-3 horas a la semana?
La realidad es que NO podemos cambiar una mala postura con 2 horas de ejercicio a la semana, y 8 horas de mala postura.
No podemos evitar que una lesión reaparezca sino vamos a la raíz del asunto, 20 sesiones de fisioterapia NO cambiarán el movimiento equivocado que realizas al correr, o entrenar. 
Yo puedo enseñarte una postura correcta, ejercicios y estiramientos, pero 8 horas frente al computador requerirán conciencia corporal, trabajo mental y físico, y NO, no puedo meterme a tu mente!

Puedo enseñarte técnica de ejercicio, y exigirte mientras entrenamos juntos, pero cuando estés solo frente a las pesas, TU tendrás que exigirte de verdad! 
Puedo darte los parámetros para que desarrolles una alimentación saludable y balanceada, pero al estar solito frente al menú del restaurante o el refrigerador, será tu fuerza de voluntad y deseo de mejorar el que decidirá.

Las decisiones importantes, las que te llevan al cambio, las que te permiten permanecer NO están en las manos de un entrenador, un gimnasio, un coach o líder, se requiere mucho más que eso! 
Y aún cuando te comparta, lo más poderoso que tengo, mi Fe, es la práctica de ella la que te permitirá pasar por la prueba y vencer!

La tarea? Te toca a tí! Y si, a mi.
Debemos ser MUY realistas y decididos en esa gran tarea que cada día tenemos por delante. El desarrollo de la fuerza, la voluntad, la honestidad, la integridad, fortaleza, y la Fe, van más allá de lo que otro simple mortal puede hacer por ti, es…tu tarea! 
Pero alguien puede decir: «Tú tienes fe, y yo tengo acciones. Pues bien, muéstrame tu fe sin las acciones, y yo te mostraré mi fe por medio de mis acciones». Santiago 2:18

A week ago I was hit by another car. My back, my neck... Every movement hurts. For someone who's life revolves around being able to move, this week has been incredibly difficult, painful, and frustrating.
🌼
As of yesterday, I am scheduled for physical therapy and cleared for LIGHT exercise. I'm playing it by feel. As long as it doesn't hurt, I can do it. 🌼 
Getting back to working out (ANY workout) has me feeling a bit better today. I'm optimistic for my recovery, and will never take my body, strength, or resilience for granted again. .

I did assessments for two new clients. They came in unsure and with loaded questions, skepticism and concerns.

They left with every question answered, new confidence ,and excited to begin!

Having that amount of trust given is such an honor to me.

Building that amount of trust in a one hour appointment is not an easy task for most. But is such a humbling experience every time.

I have been approached via social media if I do online training; I currently do not.
.....
I love one on one training with clients, in person, seeing how they move, how they feel, how they breathe. (Only creepy if you don’t know🤣).

I want to be 10000% present in your fitness journey. As should any trainer!

I’ve only been in the personal training game for a few years, and the entrepreneur life for a minute; but I’ll tell you what; I will never let a client feel like they’re not important.

If you’re thinking about becoming a personal trainer, but you’re not willing to COMMIT time to your clients. You will not be successful.

Three months ago I lost 6 lbs. That was insanely difficult for me. I did it with healthy eating, portions & exercise. My work & lifestyle changed slightly. I went from a job that kept me active to a job where I sit in a desk all day. My hours are no longer consistent, food is at an easy convenience and it has made it challenging to keep up. Financially it was difficult. Mentally it was difficult. But I was fucking striving. Striving to be better, I felt better, I loved my life. Since my life has changed slightly, I stopped the gym, my diet, I didn’t care about portions and I gained 8 pounds back. Today I brush myself off, and we try again. .
I’m ready to feel good again and get into healthy habits. It’s okay to say NO! And man, do I struggle with that word in every aspect of my life. But damn it, it’s my life! I should only be saying yes to what benefits me & helps me. .

Three months ago I lost 6 lbs. That was insanely difficult for me. I did it with healthy eating, portions & exercise. My work & lifestyle changed slightly. I went from a job that kept me active to a job where I sit in a desk all day. My hours are no longer consistent, food is at an easy convenience and it has made it challenging to keep up. 42 in the game of life .... I am well and truly in “mid-life”⁣

It seems so fucken weird to say that 🥴. But even though my brain thinks I’m still around 30 (ok, more 33) my body is definitely changing to reflect my chronological age.⁣
⁣
And before you tell me “age is but a number” let me stop you.⁣
⁣
Yes it is but a number however there are very REAL changes that occur and to dismiss or avoid talking about these changes are doing women a massive disservice.⁣
⁣
Talking about perimenopause  and Menopause  is still a taboo subject , yet it shouldn’t be. ⁣
⁣
It’s a natural part of a woman’s  evolution in life.  And yet many women  remain clueless to their body and changes or want to ignore it completely. ⁣
⁣
👉🏽Right now I am in peri-menopause (there I said it!).⁣✊🏾
⁣
Peri menopause happens about 2-12 years before Menopause and since the average age of Menopause in the western world in 51, its fair to say I am sliding into PM.  And I want  to slide into PM like a bawse ⁣🙌🏽
⁣
As said before, it feels fucken odd to say it BUT I’m not ashamedof it. ⁣
⁣
I have noticed the shifts in my mood, period and body shape. I can’t, nor do I want to fight this natural occurrence but I will support my body through this process.⁣
⁣
It’s something that ALL of us women will go through; and we get to choose to accept it with grace and positivity. ⁣
⁣
⁣
Right now my shifts are subtle,  I haven’t experienced the effects of a massive Estrogen roller coaster (I may though).⁣
⁣
Even so,  I am making changes to my lifestyle to support this important life phase. ⁣
⁣
Here’s what I’ve been  doing: ⁣
⁣
1.  strength training - this is a non negtotiable (muscle preservation is KEY to healthy aging) ⁣
⁣
2.  minimising stress and learning better stress management techniques ⁣
⁣
3.  reducing more overall workload (see above) ⁣
⁣
4.  dialing in my Nutrition by adding more vegetables , lowering my alcohol intake (don’t worry 🍸 and 🍷 still make an odd appearance) >> tracking macros and  eating “Mediterranean” style ⁣
⁣
5.  spending more time doing things I love eg reading and  hiking ⁣
⁣
6.  reducing plastic and  environmental toxins from the house⁣(read below)

Next month I hit level⁣ 42 in the game of life .... I am well and truly in “mid-life”⁣ ⁣ It seems so fucken weird to say that 🥴. But even though my brain thinks I’m still around 30 (ok, more 33) my body is definitely changing to reflect my chronological age.⁣ ⁣ And before you tell me “age is but a number” let me stop you.⁣ ⁣ Yes it is but a number however there are very REAL changes that occur and to dismiss or avoid talking about these changes are doing women a massive disservice.⁣ ⁣ Talking about perimenopause and Menopause is still a taboo subject , yet it shouldn’t be. ⁣ ⁣ It’s a natural part of a woman’s evolution in life. And yet many women remain clueless to their body and changes or want to ignore it completely. ⁣ ⁣ 👉🏽Right now I am in peri-menopause (there I said it!).⁣✊🏾 ⁣ Peri menopause happens about 2-12 years before Menopause and since the average age of Menopause in the western world in 51, its fair to say I am sliding into PM. And I want to slide into PM like a bawse ⁣🙌🏽 ⁣ As said before, it feels fucken odd to say it BUT I’m not ashamedof it. ⁣ ⁣ I have noticed the shifts in my mood, period and body shape. I can’t, nor do I want to fight this natural occurrence but I will support my body through this process.⁣ ⁣ It’s something that ALL of us women will go through; and we get to choose to accept it with grace and positivity. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Right now my shifts are subtle, I haven’t experienced the effects of a massive Estrogen roller coaster (I may though).⁣ ⁣ Even so, I am making changes to my lifestyle to support this important life phase. ⁣ ⁣ Here’s what I’ve been doing: ⁣ ⁣ 1. strength training - this is a non negtotiable (muscle preservation is KEY to healthy aging) ⁣ ⁣ 2. minimising stress and learning better stress management techniques ⁣ ⁣ 3. reducing more overall workload (see above) ⁣ ⁣ 4. dialing in my Nutrition by adding more vegetables , lowering my alcohol intake (don’t worry 🍸 and 🍷 still make an odd appearance) >> tracking macros and eating “Mediterranean” style ⁣ ⁣ 5. spending more time doing things I love eg reading and hiking ⁣ ⁣ 6. reducing plastic and environmental toxins from the house⁣(read below)
