1️⃣: Press your knees together - the inner thigh muscles have fascial connections to the pelvic floor and can help!

2️⃣: Kegel! Lift those muscles up AND in!

3️⃣: Drink plenty of water every day to create a happy bladder environment.
.

A lot of times the intra abdominal pressure from a sneeze overpowers your pelvic floor muscle abilities. Insert leak. So make sure you let that sneeze out to reduce pressure rather than holding it in! 🙌

🔸лучшая игрушка и развлекушка: собственная рука:)) пальчики во рту все время! Недавно обнаружил, что у него есть ножки, хватает их руками и так балдеет:)

En las clases de yoga + pilates puedes aprender a conectarte con tu bebé y preparar la mente y el cuerpo para el parto.

Las insteuctoras formadas como Coach Yoga for Pregnancy por @kangaruyoga y avaladas internacionalmente por Yoga Alliance, manejamos rutinas específicas para fortalecer el suelo pélvico a la vez de liberar la tensión en el psoas, el músculo del alma, que se carga con el estrés. Además se consigue mantener los ligamentos del útero en buena forma, ni muy cortos ni muy laxos, para evitar una mala postura del bebé o partos muy largos. Para eso utilizamos tanto las posturas del yoga como la pelota de pilates.

Las clases son lunes 9 AM en @corphus_menti

I (Kendra) was able to have TWO unmedicated births thanks to my sister. 
When I was about to be a mom for the first time, I had so many questions about EVERYTHING. ⠀
Was that lower groin tightness I started feeling around 20 weeks normal? ⠀
⠀
Why did I feel winded just walking down the street? ⠀
⠀
What could I do to get rid of the nagging low back and sciatic nerve pain?⠀
⠀
Would I be able to handle the pain of birth? ⠀
⠀
Could I really have the unmedicated birth I wanted, in a hospital? How do you DO that? ⠀
Thankfully I had my sister Nicole there to answer ALL my questions, and she had ALL the answers because she’d already had two kids of her own (and figured out a LOT along the way).⠀

She always knew exactly what to say to me at the right time, and the biggest part of it all...she BELIEVED IN ME. ⠀

Because of the confidence she instilled in me, I was able to have not one, but TWO unmedicated births in a hospital. And I give so much credit to my sister (and my doulas!) for helping me do it. ⠀
Now, 5 years later, Nicole is doing the same for other mothers, in our Summer Birth Immersion. ⠀

We are so excited to open the doors to this immersion for mamas having their babies in June, July and August 2019. ⠀
⠀
Imagine having a close group of mamas who have due dates around the same time, plus a knowledgeable guide, all who are there for you through the most uncertain time of your life.

They are your personal cheerleading squad, and ready to support you through anything that might come up...in pregnancy AND later in postpartum. (👈👈This right here is HUGE! Postpartum support is so so necessary.)⠀

When I was pregnant with Miya, I realized how little updated, fact-based information was out there on exercise during pregnancy. Lucky for me my doctor encouraged me to keep working out and do whatever felt right. I knew how to monitor myself because that’s what I do for a living ... and it was still so scary and confusing!!! •

This method of training prepares moms to be to be strong during pregnancy so that they have a higher likelihood of an easier labor and delivery (you can legit train for labor 🤯), and can keep up with the daily activities of motherhood. It is safe, functional, and can/should be used by everyone — but is especially geared toward mommies 🥰

And let me be honest, the first month or two of postpartum exercise was physically, mentally and emotionally harder than any workout(s) I had ever done before. •

This program also safely and effectively helps postpartum women (or unconditioned men and women) return to physical activity. •

2. Both women and comes have a pelvic floor... and that is part of your abdominal canister •

NORMALIZE BREASTFEEDING. 
I spent the day yesterday in my element at the @baltimorebirthfestival. By 12:00 PM I desperately needed to pump! When I asked the women running the festival if there would be anywhere for me to go with my electric pump they told me “sorry, the only area with electricity is the DJ booth.” I walked back to the @herbalbirthkeeping tent not knowing what I was going to do and Desirae said “so does that mean you can pump there?!” I responded “I guess it won’t hurt to ask!” Approaching the DJ booth I said to the young man who was styling with a Newsboy Cap and bow tie “I have a weird request .... do you have an extra outlet I can plug into to pump?” His response, without hesitation shock or embarrassment “Absolutely, let me hook an extension up for you!” He asked me my name and we exchanged pleasantries.  After finding out that I don’t live far from Pittsburgh he went on to say that he has been to Pittsburgh once and the only other place in PA he knows of is where his parents are originally from and I probably never heard of before.... Brownsville. I whipped around so fast I almost exposed myself! What are the odds!!! I had a great time talking to this young man we had so much in common from us both growing up in a large family... I one of 6, him one of 8. 
Thankful to Sam from @thedapperdjs We need more men like him in the world! Himself along with a couple of his brothers started this DJ company and I wanted to give them a S/O! I’m a huge fan of music and I love what they are all about... classic music and style! Give them some love and like their page!

E aí eu conheci a @biacarneiro__ do @coletivo.mamaamma ♥️ Foi tão bom, eu e meu menino adoramos! If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I’m a runner and I enjoy drawing parallels between racing and childbirth. So imagine my delight when I came across this section in #TheBirthPartner comparing labour to running a marathon! #validation 😉⁣

And as I’ve also touched on, Penny explains the parts where the analogy breaks down, one of these being the degree of predictability:⁣

“The most predictable thing about childbirth is its total unpredictability.”⁣
⁣
It’s true. Unless you have a scheduled induction or cesarean, you have no idea when your labour will begin. (Remember, your due date is just an estimate, and your baby doesn’t have a calendar! 😉) Once it does begin, you can’t know how quickly it will progress, or how long it will last. You don’t know how it will feel, what type of support will be helpful, or what it will be like when you meet your baby. (And most of this holds true even if it’s not your first time!)⁣

If you’re a go-with-the-flow type of person, this might not bother you. If you’re more of a planner, it might be hard to reconcile the unpredictability. No matter your personality, you can reduce some of the uncertainty around your labour and birth by doing some work in advance. Check out my posts from Mar 2-5, 11 & 14, about developing and documenting your birth preferences. ⁣

To navigate the unpredictable nature of childbirth and create some flexibility, I suggest the following:⁣
• learn about the typical patterns of labour and childbirth (I highly recommend taking prenatal classes for this!)⁣
• figure out what is important to you for your experience ⁣
• research “plan B” options - scenarios that are contrary to your preferences and how you would react⁣
• work on adopting an open mindset - the more adaptable you can be, the more relaxed you can stay (and the better your experience)⁣
• trust that your body is capable and your baby knows what to do⁣
