#insomnia#parasomnia are both major sleep disorders, most of us will experience at some point in our lives. I missed the boat last night and ended up in a world of no sleep😩 Sleep hygiene as basic as it sounds is the best point of treatment for sleep disorders; have a bed time and stick to it, have a quiet & dark bedroom, wind down before bed with meditation and try not to get into your head.
Behind the scenes 📸 Some new recipes coming your way soon! Stay tuned 🥰🙌🏽
It’s a great day to have a great day!! Woke up bright and early with no alarm to hit the gym and it was DEAD (my favourite kind of gym) 🤟🏼 hit 10 pull ups for the first time in a hot minute, did upper body and then played with some inversions for a bit!
I’ve gotta say the gym has been so much more fun since I loosened my structure and starting just doing what I want! I don’t train weights as much but when I do I’m loving it. If I wanna play with handstands between sets I do it. If I want to go to yoga instead, I do it! It’s honestly so freeing and so much more enjoyable ☺️
Now I’m chilling at work out in the sun 🤩 and after this I’m gonna get ahead on some school work and go to yoga tonight!! I hope you’re all having an amazing weekend! Happy Sunday friends 💜
You know those workouts that are just absolute trash? The ones that have you questioning if you can even accomplish anything or if you’re even “fit”? Yeah I definitely had one of those last Sunday and not gonna lie I didn’t get over it until today.
Sunday I had a race. It was meant to be 15.3 k but I had to stop at 7.2. And it took me an hour. Yes a freaking hour. I was tired, I couldn’t breath, and it was damn hot out. I left that race so disappointed in myself. Questioning where all my training had gone. Did 2 weeks away from running seriously bring me back to square?
I was questioning where I should even keep training for my marathon and dreading the next run I had to do. But you know what... I kept going.
This morning I got up excited to run. So I ran! I mapped out a 9km route and felt so good I finished a 10k! And my time: 54 minutes. Far from my fastest but also 6 minutes faster than Sunday. And nearly 3km longer
I guess my point is that off days happen and that’s okay! I get that it won’t feel okay (I sure as hell didn’t) but in the end it’s not like I fell off significantly. There were a lot of things working against me on Sunday that made for the bad run. And it’s simply just that: a bad run.
Cut yourself some slack! You’re doing well I know it! And if today wasn’t great, sleep it off and try again tomorrow 💕
