My dearest friend @katyfryersen shared the most meaningful Birthday gift with me last night. Today, in honor of Mister Rogers the people of his home state, Pennsylvania are encouraged to share acts of kindness. This day is significant because today, May 23 is the 143 day of the year, which is Mr Rogers favorite number 1-4-3. He used the number to say I love you as each digit reflects the number of letters in each word. First Pennsylvania, then a global kindness movement throughout the world on this day?!?!? How is that for a Happy New Year Birthday wish. Thanks to Mister Rogers for giving me something special to carry forward on my day.
Being kind is never not genuine.
It’s a combination of self love, empathy and authenticity; it’s selfless, compassionate and at times, brutally honest. It’s being kind to others, while being kind to yourself in the process. Open your heart. The act of kindness is an energetic exchange of universal oneness.💘
What was the last toxic relationship you had? Or are you still going through a toxic relationship? Whether we like it or not throughout our lives, we will meet people who come as wolves in sheep's clothing and expose our vulnerability and show their true colours, and THIS IS GOOD. It's good, John, I hear you say! Yes, because for whatever reason people come into your life be it for a reason, season or a lifetime this will come with lots of learning after all (everybody is your teacher). I wrestled with this for many years and cards on the table it's not a walk in the park, and I have not reached Nirvana lol; however, I have had my fair share of people I have had to cut loose for my future well being. I am the only thinker in my mind, and I refuse to punish myself with my TOXIC THOUGHTS and let people live in my head (rent free).
I began to CHOOSE thoughts that are "KIND TO MY MIND" I started to teach people the power of affirmations, choosing your words wisely when speaking to people and NOT CRITICISING yourself or others.
If you are going through some stuff, can I encourage you to find an affirmation that you can use daily and stick with it until you master it? And when you catch yourself in your head saying any toxic thought STOP! Replace them with your affirmation; after all, they are just thoughts and thoughts can be changed. Here is my affirmation I am currently saying daily "My thoughts are balanced & supportive. My decisions support my peace of mind".
