Sevgimle ve kocaman bir şükürle... ❤️

•Let The Body Speak It's Mind•

"One of the clearest lessons from contemporary neuroscience is that our sense of ourselves is anchored in a vital connection with our bodies. We do not truely know ourselves unless we can feel and interpret our physical sensations; we need to register and act on these sensations to navigate safely through life. While numbing may make life tolerable, the price you pay is that you lose awareness of what is going on inside your body and, with that, the sense of being fully, sensually alive.
Alixthymia, is the technical term for not being able to identify what is going on inside oneself. People who suffer from alixthymia tend to feel physically uncomfortable but cannot describe exactly what the problem is.
As a result they often have multiple vague and distressing physical complaints that doctors can't diagnose. In addition they can't figure out for themselves what they're really feeling about any given situation or what makes them feel better or worse. This is the result of numbing, which keeps them from anticipating and responding to the ordinary demands of their bodies in quiet, mindful ways. At the same time, it muffles the everyday sensory delights of experiences like music, touch, and light, which imbue life with value. ....Yoga turn[s] out to be a terrific way to (re)gain a relationship with the interior world and with it a caring, loving, sensual relationship to the self." ||

Inherent to those with an eating disorder is the total disconnect between mind and body .... it wasn't until I began to connect with my body and listen to it's messages that I understood the sensations of my body were the expression of my own emotional state .... and that I could trust my body to guide me ❤ .... it was only at this point that I began to feel more whole, integrated & connected ... that I really began to know myself.... the aches and pains piss me off sometimes! but my body really is AMAZING! 😀🙏
Thanks for hanging out with me this week!! 🤙
Rebalancing: Expanding & Opening the Back of the Body with Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward Facing Dog)
Although Downward Dog is one of the most common yoga poses there are a lot of misconceptions about how this pose should be done, for example: . .
Your heels do not need to touch the floor .
Your legs do not need to be straight .
Your head does not need to touch the floor . .
In fact we’d go so far as to say that doing the pose in those ways can prevent you from achieving the full benefits of the pose and this can also create strains and constrictions in the body. There are many variations which can be applied and many preparatory poses and movement practices that can be done to prepare the body for this pose and over time achieve this pose in comfortable alignment. . .
So we’re exploring other approaches and alternatives in moving towards happy healthy movement practices and we invite you to join us on the journey!
